Camping Pad

It is what it is - firm, cheap, warm-ish. The 5/8" version is pretty voluminous but with the straps you can stick it pretty much anywhere on the outside of your pack.

We used these under our sleeping bag at Yosemite. It served its purpose quite well. Surely it could be a bit thicker but overall, it was well worth it and kept us fairly comfortable through the night. It's super light weight so easy to carry when backpacking.

This Matt is perfect for camping. My son took it out several times and was able to get some rest without feeling the rocks underneath him.

It is certainly useful as an insulation layer for an inflatable camping pad, or as a layer to sit on (cutting it into multiple sitting pads). An non-insulated inflatable pad + a close-cell pad is a better, cheaper, more flexible and more reliable solution than an expensive insulated inflatable pad (for example, if an inflatable pad breaks, you can still survive on a closed-cell pad). However, the quality of Stansport pad does not seem to be good, therefore 3 stars. The material is too soft and prone to cuts/dents. The price is too high for such low quality. I prefer a military style Rothco foam sleeping pad, which is made of much tougher foam. Another option is a cheaper Ozark Trail closed-cell pad, which is in-between this pad and Rothco in quality. My preferred and relatively inexpensive combination is a Big Agnes Divide 72x25 non-insulated pad + Rothco 71x24 closed-cell pad.

Too short and too thin for my 3 yo grandson. He would wake up in the night every time his feet touched the scratchy Velcro. I'm not sure what this would be useful for.

Great low cost camping pad. Buy two of these for the same cost as a fancier one, stack them up and you will be a lot more comfortable. I liked this a lot better than a more expensive egg crate type camping pad I tried, The flat surface is much more comfortable

This pad is super light weight and rolls up fairly tight. Those are it's best aspects. This pad started to fall apart the very first time I took it in the back country. It is not durable at all. I wasn't expecting much as far comfort and my expectations were correct. I was happy with the little extra bit of insulation from the ground it provided at night. I would not recommend this product.

Ideal for my 10 yr old daughter. Light to carry, comfy to sleep on.
