Prime Spring-Powered Foam Dart Blasters

Out the box, GameFace shoots similar to Nexus and DZ Pros. But, this one has newer improved design compared to Nexus and DZ. Nexus and DZ have older toyish design with all internal parts inside the two-piece exterior. But not this one... Pros: 1. Price - an updated design versus Nexus and DZ pros at a similar price. 2. Performance - FPS is similar to Nexus and DZ out the box BUT accuracy and grouping is noticeably better especially with the provided SCAR nozzle. Pumping action is smoother too. 3. Most internal parts are replaceable/upgradeable with readily available Nerf Retaliator parts. And Retaliator parts are a lot cheaper than Nexus and DZ upgrade parts. 4. Almost all parts are interchangeable with CEDA S (see photo). CEDA has more stable single-piece front barrel end. The rear portions for GameFace and CEDA are almost exactly the same. But, CEDA's price is much higher (as of this review date). Cons: 1. Jams more frequently than Nexus and DP, out the box. Upgrading a few parts and using good darts will fix this issue, just like Nexus and DP Pros. 2. The two-piece front end does move around and twist a bit, which is why I prefer the CEDA's front end. 3. Not safe for children. I can go on but if you like this stuff, I highly recommend this one. If you already own Nexus and/or DZ Pro, you just must try this GameFace or a CEDA.

I picked up this blaster when it was on a deep clearance sale. I think with shipping I paid like $42 total. It's a decent blaster, but it has a few quirks. It's also a bit outdated as far as high-performance hobbyist blasters go. The pros: 1. It takes half darts, which are much more aerodynamic and accurate. 2. It is powerful. A normal Nerf blaster can't really do much harm. Even if someone was shot in their eye with no protection, it's likely that they would make a full recovery. It would hurt, and the fun would stop, but they'd be fine in the long term. This blaster, however, packs a lot more of a punch. Eye protection is definitely a must when playing with this thing. It's not going to leave painful welts like airsoft does, but it'll still hurt. 3. It has standard rails for attachments. I can buy a reflex sight, laser, foregrip, or practically any accessory for an actual firearm or airsoft gun and mount it to this blaster with minimal difficulty. I wouldn't recommend mounting a $1,000+ EOTech holographic sight to this thing, but a cheap $25 reflex sight would do it nicely. 4. Upgrade parts are fairly readily available. This blaster uses some fairly standard internals, so it can be upgraded substantially with the right knowledge and parts. The cons: 1. It is rather creaky. The joint between the forward rail section and the upper receiver just feels… weak. I can flex the blaster pretty substantially without much effort. I don't know if I should be super worried about it breaking, but I don't fully trust it. 2. It takes katana magazines. These magazines are alright half dart magazines, but the hobby has pretty much fully embraced talon magazines (another style of half dart magazine). This blaster can take talon magazines, but it will require the magazine adapter from either a Nexus Pro, Aeon Pro, or Dart Zone Max Stryker blaster, and frankly all of those blasters are a better choice to me than this particular blaster. 3. It cannot take full length magazines. This blaster was designed in the early stages of commercial half dart blasters. Despite it having a full length magwell capable of having a full length magazine inserted, this blaster cannot use full length darts whatsoever. The bolt does not pull back far enough to clear the back of a full length darts, so it just simply cannot use them. The only reason it even has a full length magazine is for compatibility with ancient early half dart magazines that fit into full length magwells but only took half length darts. These magazines looked like a capital "T" and are basically unavailable anywhere these days. Modern half length magazines are better anyways. 4. The stock must be destroyed to be removed. This blaster features what looks like a standard AR buffer tube. You might be tempted to try and slide off the stock and attach an airsoft stock of your choice, but unfortunately that is impossible without destroying the locking tab of the original stock. Conclusion: In the end, yes this is a high performance blaster, but it is incredibly dated. When anyone can walk into a Walmart and pick up a Nexus Pro for around $60, it's very difficult to justify purchasing this blaster at full price. A Nexus Pro has similar upgradability, better magazine compatibility (it can use both half length and full length darts), and better accessory compatibility (the stock can easily be swapped). A Nexus Pro is also just sturdier. I don't worry about breaking my Nexus Pro by flexing it a bit. I kinda do with this blaster. If it's on sale, go ahead. It's a great blaster for under $45. If it's full price, do yourself a favor: drive to Walmart and buy a Nexus Pro.

For the price this is one of the best deals on a high end foam dart blaster. I purchased this when it was on sale and for that price it beats out the Nexus pro. This is superior to anything but the custom modded 200 $ plus blaster that you can only get from certain dealers. While the Nexus beats it in terms of price, totally out of the box, the Gameface Prime is just as hard hitting and actually far more accurate. The only thing I don't like is the supplied short darts. about one third of them had the rubber head pop off while firing. I recommend this blaster but I also recommend you invest in some Adventure force half darts from Walmart.

Build quality is pretty good. Takes Dart Zone magazines and fires darts without jams. This blaster REALLY loves Adventure Force Ember darts (160fps). Dart Zone Ruby darts get between 130 and 150 fps. The scar barrel makes it very accurate. I paid $38 and I'm very happy. The barrel wobble is minimum on my blaster. I know it's not going anywhere so I'm not sure why there are so many complaints. I've experienced no jams and I have been using Dart Zone mags and darts only. It can take DZ mag adapters as well. Just toss the stock mag adapter for a DZ one and you can run pretty much any magazine out there.

I've been outta the foam flinging loop for awhile, but after I heard about the Dartzone Nexus Pro, I saw the Ceda platform of blasters.... Now that I have a Game Face Prime AND the Nexus Pro I can definitely say what I originally suspected about the quality and accuracy were correct. The Game Face Prime feels much closer to a real steel firearms, & is way more accurate. The Nexus is nice, don't get me wrong, but feels more like a toy to me now that I got the Prime. Anyway, yeah if you want to get a super nice, hard hitting blaster for pro level nerfing, this is the one! Mine doesn't have the "wobble" that some have mentioned plagues alotta Ceda model blasters. I do run a reflex red dot up top just ahead of of the would be ejection port. The optic bridges the front M lok section to the upper. Super solid, also check out Etsy for tons of accessories for the GF Prime that you may want or need later. This is the nicest/1st 3rd party Springer blaster I've shot. It truly makes most Nerf blasters feel like toys. Buy one, you'll love it,

Decent powerhouse primary style blaster with an assortment of quirks/defeciencies. After spending several hours with both Red and Blue blasters, over the course of three months, and among different usage scenarios (i.e. battles, range tests, duels, general blasting), I have for y'all the most honest and accurate review. Both blasters arrived to me with inadequate construction regarding the white cage for the priming foregrip (seen inside the barrel shroud, hugging the barrel). I've had to open them up and tighten these screws. In fact, the Red one came with screws free-floating within the barrel shroud - completely removed from the cage. This caused lackluster performance and overall damage to the blaster. This scenario has happened to both blasters, though the Blue's white-cage screws were accounted for but very loosely fit. Here recently, during a battle, three were lost completely. Unless you are handy with tools and willing to fix these issues, I do not recommend purchasing. PLEASE ADDRESS THESE ISSUES WITH YOUR BLASTERS BEFORE USE. It will save you from potentially having to replace and further fix/tool your $70 blaster. This blaster platform is exclusively half-length. The provided Katana style Talon mags are fairly lackluster, and I would recommend Adventure Force Pro line magazines. $25 @ Target for a 3-pack. These points made, you have an accurate and hard-hitting blaster that is technically "out-of-box" but please inspect and repair your blaster as needed. Furthermore, the aftermarket for this blaster is nonexistent. What you see is what you get for the time being. I'll rate this blaster platform a 6.5/10. Hopefully Crossman does better with the next iteration. Go with Adventure Force/Dart Zone for superior products.

Picked one up on sale for $45. Even at full price the quality difference is extremely noticeable between this and the "toy grade" plastic the dart zone pro models come in. It just feels higher grade, the parts fit together smoothly and the prime, magwell, and releases are all smooth. As for the pros: Seems to hit just as hard fps wise as the dart zone pro offerings. States 130 on the box but seems to be hitting between 130-150fps. Same as a Nexus or Stryker. Don't have a Chrono to compare but videos on YouTube seem to have the same findings. Also keeping in mind scar barrels sacrifice power for accuracy, so it's expected to be slightly under. Accuracy out of the box can't be compared. This gun literally fires lasers at med ranges. The difference a scar barrel makes on a dart blaster can't be argued with plenty of video evidence on YouTube. Having one attached to the barrel already and molded in plastic without having to restring fishing line is a huge bonus. This model will fire adventure pro short darts (currently best on the market) and also fits the aeon/nexus/Stryker short dart magazine in the stock gameface adapter. I imagine it will also accept (straight) talon mags with no issue as well. Quick, easy complete disassembly. Blaster strips down easily with little to no tools required for a full takedown. Main components are simple to get to with no tool necessary. Beefy molded main mag release triggers are nice and regardless of main or short dart mags out of the adapter, both will easily gravity drop when released. Cons: The price when you can get a Nexus Pro or Max Stryker plus a 3d printed scar barrel for either for way less than the regular retail of this blaster. You can actually buy a Nexus Pro primary plus an Aeon Pro as a secondary together for less than one of these unless it's on sale. The darts are terrible. Not even in comparison to AFPs, but any short dart in general. Their performance is pretty lackluster plus they seem to jam quite a bit. Barrel assembly can flex/wobble slightly. Greatly reduced once the barrel is inserted, don't worry when you take it out of the box and it seems quite extreme. This is also remedied quite a bit with a simple picatinny accessory whether it be a riser rail, scope mount, or laser sight as I have mounted on mine, right where the barrel joins. In summary, this is a great blaster long as you get one on sale, otherwise I would still recommend one of the offerings out there.

This blaster is insane!! The second I took it out of its packaging I was a little worried that it wouldn’t shoot as hard as it states but when I shot my hand up close it gave me an idea as to how serious this blaster is. Now I had some problems at first with shipping because my first package was damaged but when I spoke to the people who sold this item they were extremely helpful and sent me a new one right away which arrived 3 days after shipped and that just shows how much these people care about their customers. Now more on the blaster, it has some wiggly parts but overall you don’t notice it unless you wiggle them on purpose, and the stock does collapse on you if you put too much pressure but that should be expected with a cheaply designed stock. Now if you want some serious fire power this is what you are looking for and it’s pretty damn accurate. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone playing indoors and up close because you could pretty easily take someone’s eyes out, but if you play outdoors at a distance the fire power is perfect for landing shots.
