Mehron Makeup Barrier Spray - 2 Fl oz, Professional Makeup Setting Spray

So i just want to say whoever made this product needs their tail-hind KISSED 😙😙 this product is amazing. I’m a certified sweater that likes to have a good time. Went to a pool party in 105 degree weather sweating my tail off !! This setting spray was the truth & it was perfect to fit in any bag. You need only one spritz but I was very generous ! (2-3 spritz) Lasted from 10:30am - 3/4ish ( in video I’m at the 1pm mark after being sprayed with on the dance floor ) Pro tip: alone it worked amazing but pair it with the L’Oréal 36hr setting spray & it’s the equivalent to a bullet proof vest 😭

I use this makeup spray when I’m in musicals at the local community theatre and it’s the only spray that actually prevents any makeup melting or smearing under those bright stage lights! The finish is very strong so don’t be surprised if your face feels a little stiff - the spray is doing its job! And you don’t need a lot of it to keep your makeup in place. Highly recommend and will be buying again!

The sprayer mist comes out too strong, and not a fine mist so I recommend sprayer bottles if it’s bothering your makeup setting process, product isn’t full proof but, it does the job, and smells a little bit as your freshly spray but it doesn’t linger. The one star less is due to the sprayer bottle as its not a fine mist and it’s bothersome for me.

Mehron Paint worked wonderfully in tandem with this spray. I’m an amateur & never even wear foundation lol, I got compliments all night... I used the mehron barrier spray in between 2 coats of the mehron paradise paint and after the final coat. Let dry completely between applications!! I also did an extra coat (3rd spray total) at the end. That stuff is AMAZING!!! The spray can come out a little drippy but if you do a few light sprays kind of in the air over your body (not directly into your body) let the mist fall onto the skin... after that dries you can do heavier coats directly to the skin & give more protection without making droplet marks on the paint ..... I was very happy with this product!!!! Even the paint on my hands held up through 5 hours of party & looked great. I held cold drinks with condensation, an icy water bottle, picked up babies (rubbing all over my tummy/arms/chest), hugged people... I even cut a lemon at one point with no transfer!! By the end of the night my finger tips were lighter than the rest of my hands but that’s it (you can see in my selfie, that was at the end of the night right before the shower). Very minimal transfer to the inside of my clothing & it came out in one wash. When I showered & just stood under the hot water for a couple minutes, the paint got lighter but didn’t disappear. I was impressed lol ... took a soft loofa sponge & dr bronners soap, paint came right off. No staining of my skin, no break outs, no dryness. LOVE the mehron product line & would definitely order again & again!!! (I originally ordered amazon green but when it arrived it was definitely a darker witch-y green, so I returned & bought the Light Green, seen here in photos. Glad I made the switch.)

So I have become a bit of connoisseur of setting sprays over the course of the pandemic, in search of the perfect spray that won't make my face feel tight but also make my makeup transfer proof. I have a dark scar on my nose that I like to cover up which becomes problematic when you're taking a face mask on and off all day, and I also have deep set eyes and want to prevent eyeshadow and eyeliner transfer. LET ME TELL YOU, this stuff made my makeup freaking BULLET PROOF. Tried it when I was at an outdoor event in DC in the middle of summer. This spray made my makeup last from early morning through the summer heat, humidity, rain, taking my mask on and off, and I even slept in it (Don't judge, I was exhausted). I was floored the next morning when I looked in the mirror and my makeup was damn near perfect! No makeup transfer to the white sheets! Color me impressed! I will say though, unless you're a masochist make sure not to get any in your eyes as the alcohol in it will really burn. That said, I spray after concealer and foundation, once it's dry set with powder, and finally spritz one last time before I'm out the door. My makeup doesn't look cakey, and that tight feeling you may feel once it dries goes away quickly. I also don't get those extra wrinkles around your eyes and mouth that you get sometimes get with other sprays where your skin feels a little glued. All around the finish looks natural and this product actually performs beautifully. 10 out of 10

works ok for some makeup. but doesn’t work for alcohol activated body paint. bc it’s an alcohol based spray. i didn’t see that before i bought it bc it isn’t listed anywhere. my AABP peeled up in spots when i used this over the top. it DOES NOT work as a primer for alcohol based body paint either. i used it under as a primer & this is the first time ive ever had my AABP just peel off in one huge piece. so don’t listen to their website or assume this works for all makeup. pay attention to what kind of makeup you’re using. if you’re using AABP, shave the area, wipe clean w/ rubbing alcohol, paint the area, use wet n wild photo focus setting powder, then use Milani setting spray. that sh!t will last all day & then some. i promise you. this did work ok for SILICONE based makeup. but it is very sticky & i did not like the hairspray smell. it literally feels like hairspray on your skin for a little while.

This product is my preferred choice for face and body makeup. I first discovered it many years ago for a Halloween costume where I was painted blue, and the paint remained perfectly intact throughout the entire evening. Now, I use it regularly whenever I apply a bit of body makeup or simply wish to set my makeup.

Package came in time for my Spirit Day at work: Disney Day, as I used it to set my blue face to portrait "Sadness" from Inside Out. I love this setting spray!! The process: after I applied moisturizer, I primed my face heavily with primer first, you can use any face primer. Then wet the face paint and started to paint my face gradually. I used the colour Sky from Mehron. Wait a few minutes to dry before reapplying. Then I applied the setting powder I bought from Mehron. I added my own eyeshadow, blush and blue lipstick. Last I sprayed my face with the setting spray, both the store-bought and this one I got from Mehron, to prevent staining or transferring. When I touched my face lightly, it did not transfer. I got so many compliments from lots of coworkers. What a day!! Afterwards, to remove it I just used makeup remover and it wiped out easily. I didn't experience any irritation. Love the quality and texture. The colour did transfer a bit to my sweater around neck just a bit since I didn't set with setting powder or use setting spray too much in that area, but it's easily removed after a wash. Love this product and will definitely use it again for either cosplay at events or spirit day at work ❤️.

I can’t live without it! Now I use it anytime I have an event and need my makeup to last all day !!! It really works! Makeup stays put! Even eyeshadow !

I wear heavy camouflage makeup and a lot of powder every day to cover a large facial birthmark. I have tried most setting sprays out there and they all seem to make my makeup crumble away. Not this one, it actually works and stopped makeup coming off in areas of sweating like my top lip. Can’t recommend it enough!

Strong smell and should not be applied near eyes and lips

Works a treat and make up sets all day.
