Great starting kit, great customer service
I was absolutely thrilled when I received this ...it was an extremely easy set up. I felt that the material was durable and decent quality, especially for the price! The only thing I did not like is that the lamp holders the piece that you screw end to tighten the umbrella once its holding in the lamp holder ...but it is made out of plastic and is easy to strip and wear over time, and one of my lamp holders was stripped on the screw for the umbrella and wouldnt hold it in place... but I reached out to customer service and they right away to care of the problem and sent me to new 2 lamp holders free of charge to replace my 1 bad lamp holder within a matter of a few days... I am a serious hobbyist and not a professional by any means but for a starting set this was a great addition to my new cannon camera and I was able to manipulate the lighting....i set up a little photo shoot for xmas and was able to take some really nice family photos ...I am content with the brightness of the bulbs and I love how it comes with a carrying case to put it all in for easy transportation ..... over all my experience was very positive and I would totally recommend this to anybody starting out wanting to take their photography to the next level, especially with such great customer service from the seller I attached one of the photos from my family xmas shoot to show how the lighting kit really made a huge difference to the photo

Great quality for the money!
Haven't really had a problem with this. I love the fact that it has both white umbrella's and black ones. I use the white ones for my girls, and the black ones for the guys. To have this option is very nice. The power of the lights are not that of what you can get out of a speedlite - but, even if i were to move to a speedlite instead of these lights, i can still use the stands for other things - and even maybe introduce some additional light into the background to help set the subject apart from the scene. The lights do need to be placed close to the subject - maybe 1 - 1 1/2 feet away from their face. White umbrella's, i point at the subject (light shining thru the umbrella) and this seems to give off a very nice and soft light (tis why i save it for the girls) Not all that great for large shoots - but i've used it before for a family of 3 & a family of 4. Haven't done anything bigger yet due to the closeness of the lights to the subjects. Cord length is a problem if you don't have plugs all around your house. I do, so it's not a problem for me. I also keep a 3 plug outlet from one outlet plug with me so i can plug all three lights in off of one plug if there is only one that's close by... cord length starts to matter then. Carrying case is a little on the cheap side - but i didn't get this for a carrying case... i've setup this light setup and put it away a total of 15 times now - and the points of ware are... the zippers bend really easy - so be gentle pulling on them, as the zipper tab/puller likes to form into a curve into the direction you pull it. The case material is of nylon-ish material - and not easily puncturable - so that's nice. Not heavy grade. I don't plan on using this for any heavy duty equipment though, so this is ok. Would i get this over a speedlite? I only do pictures vs. video - so probably would go with a speedlite (Yongnuo YN660). Setup time takes roughly 6 minutes for me from case to finished process. Speedlite is nearly instant. Subjects get a little warm sitting in front of 3 lights that are pointed at or near them. Both a speedlite and/or this umbrella setup gives me a professional look where i get more respect as a photographer - and more willing participants. Clients don't see "Cheap" when looking at the setup. They don't see "Pricey" either - but it's a nice look - both in professionalism and the photo's it turns out.

great value
I needed lights to help me look good for virtual job interviews. I considered getting the ring light, but this full set of professional quality photography lights with umbrellas was the same price, and I felt gave me a lot more flexibility. I It came with 3 stands, four umbrellas, and four light bulbs. It was easy to assemble. (I didn't have to read instructions; that's always a good sign.) I am quite happy with the set. The umbrellas give soft flattering light, and I can move them where I need them. For example, if the sun is coming in on my right face, I can put the lights on the left to fill in the shadow. During the evening when there is no sun, I can put them right in front of me. I still can't believe I got so much lighting for so cheap. I had expected to pay way more. I have no idea why Amazon expects me to grade this product on "warmth" Would I order lights that were warm in temperature? Warm in color? Why would I do that? These lights were not "warm" by either standard, but I didn't want either of those. Who would? So I didn't rank the "warmth." Dumb suggestion, Amazon.

Worth the Investment
I have been using this kit for about a year, and have some pretty specific feedback. Overall, this is a good kit for the money. There are a few shortcuts taken that compromise the quality, but nothing I consider a deal breaker. I do not use this kit every day, nor do I leave it set up. I break it down after each shoot, and store it in the bag. So far, that has been approximately 12-15 times. Pros: 1. It is easy to set up. I honestly don't remember if it came with instructions, but if you need them, well, maybe you should do a little more research in lighting, first. 2. The stands are solid. Sturdy, but not very heavy. I have never had them tip over from being unbalanced or bumping into them. 3. The umbrellas are better quality than I expected, They are thin and small (33"), but again, not a deal breaker. 4. The bulbs are good quality, long lasting, and true to color. Cons: 1. The socket holders are plastic, and the threads for the set screws that hold the umbrellas are prone to stripping. It doesn't take much to strip plastic threads. 2. Everything fits in the bag, but awkwardly, and it seems never the same way twice. 3. The wear factor seems a bit higher. After using it several times (5-8), I noticed the seams stretching on the umbrellas and the rods denting, even with minimal pressure. If I had it to do over again, I would buy this kit without reservation. It is a good value for the investment.

Great starting kit, decent storage container
So this kit was the same price as Neewer's kit, plus it contained 2 silver reflectors instead of simply the white diffusers. The kit was easy to set up and we were amazed at how much equipment we could buy for 45 dollars. The stands lock really well and the bulbs are bright. Pros: The two tall stands are really tall and you can get them above target to down-angle light if you want. The stands lock really well and the bulbs are bright and consistent with one another. Cons: The lights are really hard to plug in, to the point where I thought I was going to break the plugs. They worked fine once I did plug them in however, and everything seems fine now. It was just concerning and required some real force. It could have been related to the two new power strips we bought for these lights, however. The Storage bag relies heavily on the cardboard packing material to keep everything safe. Don't throw away the packaging materials once you unpack your equipment, as that is what makes up your safety padding. We returned all of our materials to their plastic wrap / styrofoam padding and back into their cardboard boxes before putting them in the travel bag. we might sew on a few loops to mind the umbrellas a bit better. From the factory they are loose in the gear bag. Overall for 45 dollars, a set that works and is safe, even if that means re-using the shipping materials...who cares? the gear is secure and it works great. 5 Stars.

Nice product. Delicate, but do the job as advertised.
Not "professional quality" I'm sure but they have done the job. I've used them to set up a studio in my garage and they provide a good amount of light for the space. The included bulbs are florescent and seem to take a few minutes to reach full brightness. Color is uniform between the three bulbs and work well for my uses. The umbrellas are fine. Delicate for sure, but they do their job. I had a small cardboard box fall off a shelf and land on one umbrella. It bent it, but it's still useable. Definitely need to be careful with these puppies...I can't imagine them outside except on a completely wind-less day. Set-up and take down is pretty painless. No instructions were included but I can't imagine how a person wouldn't be able to intuitively figure out how to use l set them up. Overall, I'm satisfied with them, especially at this price point.

Great quality for cost of product!
Great photography kit for a novice like me. I needed to take clear, accurate, and professional looking photos of items I sell in marketplaces online. This kit was perfect just for that purpose. It only takes a few minutes to set up and put away. The components are durable, as the lamp stands are made out of metal and the plastic lamp fixtures aren't flimsy. The umbrellas are well made and work great. Can't wait to take some photos for readers and post them here.

Basic set, modest quality.
I have read some of the reviews, so I think the bottom line is that it is luck of the draw with the quality of the kit you receive. In my case, I only use two umbrellas and both bulbs worked, however neither of the black umbrellas will stay open. I taped the black umbrellas open, and meh, the lights are not strong enough in reflection. So, I use the white umbrellas as light boxes. The lights are very soft, and, in my experience, the subject needs to be very near the umbrellas. The umbrellas provide just enough light for me to use them sitting on the opposite side of a desk when I am doing zoom calls, so the umbrellas are about 3 feet from my face. This set is "good enough" using them that way, but I think they would be useless trying to do serious or even occasional portrait photography. I gave them 3 stars because I can use them for what I wanted.

Lightweight (tadumtishh... light.. weight...!)
Not the strudier, but not the heavier! It holds in place not recommended for outdoors unless you ou weights on it though! Does the job, overall good quality for the low price light are bright.. it is not meant to be kept unfolded though.. the metal bones of the umbrellas gets weaker if you let them open for weeks.. dont do like me ;)
