I dont think it would work because it is made for the detection of electromagnetic transmitters like wireless bugs fron a distance of several meters to a few centimeters. It is a tool to find out easily if there is suspicious transmission being emitted from a certain device and might give you a first and easy idea of the type or frequency of the radiation without the need of large and really expensive equipment. Most likely it will not give you all the information you need to specify the exact source, purpose or destination of the transmission. For a total detection you need additional tools. Credit cards work with magnetic strip and induction for NFC which can not be detected from a distance with this device. 
We use this tool for first sight to check if there is something suspicious. If so we get our spectrum analysers etc and check it in depth. If the skimner is passive (just reading and storing data locally without transmitting it right away) you will not be able to detect it this way.
