I bought this to give myself an at home perm. Why do you need these? A long time ago, i didn't know the answer to this question, and i gave myself a perm without these. The ugly, crinkly tips on the end of an otherwise beautiful spiral is the reason. Taking a section of hair, and folding one of these papers in half and filling approximately 3/4s of the paper with your hair before wrapping your hair around the roller allows you to smooth the paper onto super small rollers in a way that catches your hair ends in a flat, even manner. This traps flyaways or uneven lengths of hair, and gives you an easier surface to wrap than the natural stopping point of your hair. These papers were great. I hadn't used papers from a box that was designed for dispensing them individually before, so i opened the box wrong, and papers went flying. After picking them up, restacking them, putting them back in the box, and opening the box on the perforated lines, i was impressed. And i felt incredibly silly. Maybe this feature was obvious to everyone else, but incase you weren't aware, i hope this head's up helps you. It was very easy to use, much more helpful than not having this box design. These papers worked perfectly to prevent crinkly-ended spirals. Hint: if this is your first time doing an at home perm, you can wrap a couple strands of "bone dry" hair on a curling rod and leave it for 30 minutes with NO PRODUCT. Then remove the curler, and if your hair is like mine, you'll have a beautiful little curl. It doesn't last too long, but it lasts long enough to give you an idea of what your curl will look like, and give you an idea of whether or not you have a good wrap technique as far as making sure your ends aren't crinkled.

These work just fine for perming and you get a lot for the price. The box is a bit flimsy, I had to tape it up to keep everything contained but that’s a small thing.

the quality is decent. no complaint

These worked great. Perm kits used to always come with papers...ALWAYS...so I was surprised that I had to buy also the papers. But these were cheap and did the job! Happy with them....and there's plenty to do quite a few perms!!
