I just got this and used it for the first time, with only one cup of rice it boiled so much that it splatted out the vent hole a lot. Is there a fix?

I soak Basmati rice for approximately ten minutes and rinse it till the water is clear. I cook the rice with the steamer basket, to prevent water squirting out of the vent hole. I remove the pot from the cooker immediately after it finishes cooking and let it sit for a few minutes to eliminate a crust forming in the bottom..

Does this cooker come with a prop 65 warning?

Yes. It is on the box but not sure why since stainless steel may be excluded? I am happy with my purchase.

Does the rice come out as sticky rice?

That depends on the rice. You'll specifically want to buy Glutinous rice (which has a high starch content). Google "how to make sticky rice" for details!
