Great power fan for aquarium
One of the best Aquarium fans you can get. Very strong and well built. Cant get any easier to use with the suction cup and direct plug in.

Great little pump!
UPDATE: I ordered a 425 now too, since the smallest model worked so well, and I'm pleased with both. They run silently, provide a gentle, dispersed, yet high flow current, and always stay put with the magnetic suction cup. Great little circulation pumps, especially for the price! I ordered one of these for my 55 gallon tank, just the smallest one to provide a little circulation. It takes only a minute to set up, the magnetic suction cup keep it very secure, and it runs quietly. The build quality is excellent, and it provides a wider flow than you would expect. On top of that, my fish absolutely LOVE it, taking turns swimming against the current. I would have probably gone for the second-smallest unit for a 55 gallon tank in retrospect, but even the 240 will makes a world of difference, and you can't beat the price for the quality you get.

Very quiet pump, moves water. Will buy another.
Used to circulate water in 29G reef tank along with several other pumps. This pump is small, easy to position, started and stayed totally quiet. I will likely buy another. The magnet mount works well, it has not moved or fallen off. There is no clicking noise (like there is on my ehiem pump) when the pump is turned on, so you could use one of the devices that makes waves, but I don't. update 7/6/2016: No problems so far, I'm still very happy with this circulation pump. I did buy a second for use in another tank even though I have a perfectly good powerhead sitting on a self that could have been used instead.

Great for Nano tank!
Thanks to the reviews, I decided to give this pump a try for my 9 gallon Eheim Aquastyle saltwater nano. I've been in the hobby over 10 years - mostly heavily planted, aquascaped freshwater tanks in the past from 50g to 0.5g. I've always been very pleased with the Hydor products and this one is no exception. For the quality, price and function, this is a great pump, especially on Amazon. I wouldn't go cheaper with a more inferior brand or even a more costly one that does the same thing. I found other reviews with tank descriptions especially helpful so here's mine: my saltwater nano has 1 clownfish, 1 cleaner shrimp, cuc's and several soft corals of starburst polyps, kenya tree, pulsing xenia and mushrooms - live rock and 1 inch live sand (sand is more aesthetics). Eheim's tanks are beautiful on their own, so every accessory counts going in. Most importantly, I didn't want the other inhabitants blown in a circle or with such force that they would have to hide in a corner of rock. Sure enough, based on the reviews and other research on fish boards, the open flow of this pump is gentle enough in the tank for everyone. Based on my live rock formation, I have the pump on the back left side, a little lower than mid-tank directing current toward the opposite wall with the corner filter (sand gets kicked up if placed lower). The pump creates a soft current that wraps nicely around the rocks to give the corals a gentle sweeping effect in combo with the filter flow overhead. The starburst polyps have already grown larger in the past week and the CUC's are out and about more often in the light. Another benefit is that the sand has been cleaner too, even as I increased my light hours for better tank viewing in winter. Since I have only had the pump 2 weeks, I am giving it 4 out of 5 stars. As other reviewers mentioned, there is a slight hum to my otherwise nearly silent tank. But the animals all seem more lively and "happier" with the added flow so I'm keeping it. If the vibration gets much louder or circulation fades, I'll likely replace it with another one. Hopefully the sound remains minimal and pump lasts a couple years. If so, I would vote 5 of 5. Cheers and happy reef/fish keeping!

Perfect, silent surface agitation & light flow
(Noise in video is from fan inside tank light, not wave maker) I purchased the 240 GPH one to create surface agitation to replace my air stone, and to create more of a shimmer effect in my tank. I was worried it might make too much current but it doesn't, and it is 100% silent! When I first plugged it in, it sounded awful, but after just a few seconds it became completely noiseless. My tank is directly bedside my bed and my filter is silent as well, so if this thing made any sound I would hear it. Another bonus is that the magnet attachment makes it super easy to move around, and I don't have to worry about it ever falling.

Sturdy, silent and trouble-free; attaches strongly and easily
I received this a few days ago. It was well-packaged and very well made, with high-quality materials. It makes no sound at all--I have to put my hand in to see if it's turned on. I got it for a 20g tank of panda garras, who are said to like strong currents. I had read reviews of it buffeting smaller fish around, but it does not seem unusually strong to me. These 2" long fish happily cavort right in front of the outlet for hours and have no problem maintaining their position. Floating plants are not blown around the tank either. It's just what I was looking for. Enough current to make fish happy and prevent dead zones in the tank, but not so strong as to make swimming challenging. The ULTRA-quiet and strong-but moveable magnet were two big pluses.

don't be alarmed by the noise it makes outside water
I got my unit today and wanted to test it immediately. I was initially disappointed with the loud noise it made when not installed inside the tank - I thought I received a defective product. Then, for some reason, I thought I should try it inside the aquarium and was surprised that it went absolutely quiet. The flow is just good enough to circulate the water across the tank and not too much to stress the fish in it. It seems that the fish are enjoying swimming against the current. I did not see anywhere in the instructions where the manufacturer has warned end users about the noise outside water - I think they should, especially for greenhorn hobbyists like myself. I will update my review after observing it for a few more days. update 05/28/18: I have this pump running on a timer for 5 hours a day turning on/off after every feed which is also automated - I have noticed that my water looks cleaner and I do my water changes less frequently and my fish love it. I was worried of the pump killing my fries, but it seems the fries are more intelligent than I thought. To sum it up, I am happy with the product.

Stay Away! Poorly made.
I'm on my second set of two Hydor Koralia Nanos. I use them with a Hydor Smart Wave Circulation Pump Controller. These products are made by the same company and supposedly compatible. I have the wavemaker set to switch which pump is on every thirty seconds. Nothing too drastic. This is, after all, what these pieces of equipment were designed to do. My first set of pumps broke in under a year. One stopped working and the other was already making a horrendous noise every time it started up. I was pretty disappointed, but I couldn't find any other pumps for a nano that can handle the wavemaker. I decided to try again and shelled out another $50 for a second set. This time, rather than my usual once a month cleaning of the pumps, I decided to clean them every water change, or weekly. Perhaps once a month was too infrequent, I thought. Nope, Less than 4 months later, and one of the pumps wont even turn on. No noise, nothing. It looks brand new though! At this point I don't know what to do with my wavemaker, but I won't be buying any more Hydor pumps. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of these poorly made pumps.

Not for UK
Amazon should not be selling this pump to UK consumers. It comes with a USA moulded plug and is rated at 115v 60Hz, not the 240v 50Hz that we operate on here in the UK. Didn't realise this until I had cut the moulded plug off and fitted it with a UK 3 pin plug. Plugged it in - the noise was alarming and at that point I realised that this pump is for USA market and not UK. Going to try to return this, but as I've cut the plug off I'm not so sure my return is going to be that successful - oh well :-(

Worth the money.
Use is on a 45 g planted tank. Works great! Have it set to turn on when CO2 is on for circulation. Creates good flow in the 45g, would be hesitant in anything smaller. Adjustable and quiet. Doesnโt feel cheap. Would purchase again.

Excellent pump for nano tanks.
I've had this pump before and they are top notch. Works perfectly in my 10 gallon cube, and is so much easier to hide smaller then the Fluval Sea stock circulation pump which is a lot bigger and more difficult to hide, I will be buying another to replace the Fluval one as 2 pumps work better then 1 at keeping up good flow on the display side. For the price point this is the best circulation pump you will find in my opinion. It's also not made in China like a lot of aquarium items are, but made in Italy which seems to provide a better quality product overall. I don't find the 240 bad for a 10 gallon cube when used in conjunction with another pump, not sure I would use just 1 240 in a 10 gallon and up though, but I always use 2 smaller pumps vs 1 larger one so I can get more random flow and for my purpose this size is perfect. Amazon's price was a bit higher, but with being a Prime member it still came out cheaper then another online store who was 3 dollars cheaper but would have charged 9 in shipping so despite the higher price on Amazon, it was cheaper in the end.
