Will these be cute with a solid red dress for xmas qithout being too ""funny"?

It all depends on the event and your taste. These are very cute and will put you in the Holiday Spirit . These are more festive not glamorous looking.

5'7" and 200 pounds with thick thighs. Think the 1x/2x will work or should i get the 3x/4x?

Good chance 1x/2x will work. Just know there is no elastic waste, so a slide down will happen; luckily, I had on shorts, so they worked fine. Good luck!

Is queen bigger than plus size? they’re listed separately.

I ordered the queen so it would be loose. They have no control top so they were comfortable to me. I wear a size 14 in pants. I don’t know if queen is bigger than plus. They were not tight in the waist and I liked that
