Large Oregon Hazelnuts in Shell, 5 Lbs

Beautiful, large, tasty. This is exactly what I was hoping for. Highly recommend.

We ordered five pounds of raw hazelnuts (filberts). They are fresh and the taste is great as is the condition of the shells. The quality and size are the same I remember when I lived in Oregon in Lane county where there were orchards... all over the place. We will be snacking on them, making desserts with some, maybe a few for the squirrels and ordering them again when we run out from Anna and Sarah.

These are great! Ive purchased multiple times. My squirrels love them and they're at a great price too. Would highly recommend.

Great nuts

Exactly what I was looking for! This is the second company I've purchased from and will definitely stick with this one. It has the exact taste and texture I was looking for. They are fresh and regular sized.

Bought these in Sept 2022 as I did not have good luck when bought the same brand of shelled hazelnuts (many were going bad - got a refund), so decided to try a big bag of in-shell, as maybe they would be less likely to be going bad. The 5 lb bag I received has Lot number AS195C24522, expires Sep 1, 2023. I am not sure if it was cost effective, in terms of what I paid per pound of actually edible hazelnut. But for sure, what made it better is I could separate out the ones that already had cracks in them and were less likely to be as fresh. This particular bag has quite a few cracked ones, as well as empty ones. And some of these nuts have marks that look like somebody tried to crack them open before me! Those were still intact, but have not seen that before. Probably some critters were interrupted when working on getting food. But I am going to keep trying other sources - if I buy in shell hazelnuts, I want their shells to be intact.

I just learned that peanuts (not nuts, they are legumes) are bad for squirrels. I bought these large hazelnuts for them along with chipmunks and any other critters that could eat them. As soon as I put them out, I went back inside to watch what would happen. It was a rainy day and I had 2 squirrels come and were so excited to have the hazelnuts. Each would go up to a hazelnut, sniff and bite onto it. They would run off as quickly as possible and bury them. I am rationing them out as a supplement to other nuts and seeds I have outside for critters. The size seems perfect for them! and the amount should last a while.

Being curious, I wondered how fresh roasted Hazelnuts tasted with personal tweaks. After shelling the nuts I placed about a cup of nuts into a mixture of 2 tsp. of Sesame Seed oil and salt. After putting in an air fryer for 8 minutes at 350 degrees (stirring after 4 minutes) I have found a new favorite snack.
