Packaging was good, the product is a very good value for ...
Bought two and have a third on the way. Packaging was good, the product is a very good value for the money. For about $30 each, I have a very good set of down rigger rods that I can abuse for fishing the Puget Sound of Wa State. I'd rather break the tip of a $30 fiberglass rod, throw it away and have a spare ready to go than a $150+ Loomis or Llamii..... Great value for the money! So far, no performance issues and I've been fishing everyday during the month of Aug and into the first part of Sept 2017.

Good salmon trolling rod
This is my second Classic Pro GLT, with my first combo package still going strong salmon fishing in Northern California. I fish the Okuma dragging a three pound ball on a sinker release. The rod flex at the tip is good while trolling and the flex in the rod keeps a steady tension on the fish when bringing it in. I have had better luck with the Classic Pro GLT then a number of gifted West Coast expensive rods that broke (twice) and had to be returned for the "lifetime warranty" that cost 75 bucks to replace the rod. When I was last out using the replaced "high end" rod I noticed the tip eye was starting to come apart so I decided a backup rod was needed. Looking at my Okuma that has gone on all the fishing trips the " West Coast " rod has gone on, the Okuma Rod looks great, all the eyes have stayed together, it hasn't broke, and it fishes well so i ordered another one. Just a quick update. Went out on a six pack party boat and found the supplied rods were these rods. Crew said they liked em and they kept the fish on the barbless hook nicely.

Hard to beat for the $$
Great quality rod for the price point. The rod handle is holding up better than the 3x more expensive Lamiglas I bought at the same time. The EVA handle is more durable in the rod holder than cork, due to the strain of the rod loading up in the downrigger.

Nice pole for the price
Great salmon rod. It's too big/heavy for lighter weight fish tho. Great tip, lots of action.

This rod really pissed me off.... especially after researching it and all the great reviews!
What a mistake this rod was! Purchased from Amazon in early 2019, I used this rod 3 times before it failed at the ferrule while I was trying to get it released with a small shaker salmon on my hook. I had 17 lb test mono line and the pole snapped in 2 pieces after pulling it up to get the line off my Scotty down rigger release. Not only did the rod fail but one of the eyelets ceramic linings also popped out! I am contacting Okuma but just wanted to warn others that they may have a problem with the quality control as I should have never been able to fracture this rod with 17 lb test line. So after towing my boat for 3 hours and a 2 hour run to the outside of San Juan Island I had to return home as I brought no backup rod. Now that was my mistake but what a wasted frustrating day.... no too mention over $100 in fuel....

Great rods!
Great rods, and the price can't be beat. My husband and I are running 2 of these on top of Scotty 1085 downriggers in Alaska for King Salmon. Paired with 60 lb braided line / 100 lb leader, we pulled out a 25 lb Chinook on the first trip without issues. These rods stand up to the fight like a champ! The arrived on time as well, no issues with packaging.

Broke fighting a fish
I've had a couple of these and used to think of them as great value downrigger rods, but one just snapped on me while fighting a fish (40" lingcod), so I think a little less of them now.

Nice big and flexible
Really great product. It’s a little too long for a small boat, so you need to be careful when you throw. Ideal for shore. Vraiment bon produit. C’est un peu trop grand pour dans une chaloupe mais c’est parfait pour la rive.
