OTC 4518 5-Ton Bar-Type Puller and Bearing Separator Set with Storage Case

I was having a hell of a time getting a puller to remove the damaged bearings from an axle. I placed this below the bearing and added an extension set of arms. it worked like a charm. Worth the money I paid for it. You can add the extensions to reach further down the axle. 2 different sizes to work with. This held up great pulling 2 difficult to reach bearings.

For the price you cannot beat it. Not just the cost but the tool itself is very tough. I use my tools hard and this puller has held up incredible. Very difficult to damage the sharp edge. Very strong and rigid steel. Very universal as well. I attached this puller to an OTC blind bearing puller as well as a piece of all thread and steel plate I drilled two holes in to remove a motorcycle fork seal. Worked perfect. This is nice that you can mate it with other OTC tools.

Used this bearing splitter set to replace bearings on an electric motor. If you use the splitter side, it will literally split the old bearing right off the shaft. If you use the back (flat) side, it'll let you pull a bearing off without damaging it. The really nice thing is you can use the flat side in conjunction with a shop press to press new bearings into the shaft. If you're working on bearings, this is the one to get!

This is an imported set, but is better fit and finish than many other imported puller sets I have seen. It is not as well made as an OTC US made set, but is good enough for most home use, and much more affordable than the US made OTC sets. Your get what you pay for. I have only used it a few times, and each time the bearing or gear was not very hard to remove, so I can't say how it will hold up if I use it on something that is really stuck tight. I am satisfied with the quality for the price.

this tool is of good quality, it worked flawlessly when I used it the other day. I'm glad I found this OTC puller is the exact same tool that MAC Tools sells on their trucks(as well as most all pullers MAC sells). I even got the driver to admit they sell OTC products. I saved $120.00 by purchasing it here instead of from MAC and that's a lot of money for a MAC label on the box.

+ Found this to be especially handy for just yanking things off of other things. NOt all applications have to be bearing related. You can flip the tool around and use the flat part. I sometimes use it as a makeshift c-clamp type of press. + The edge was exact enough in construction to be able to grab something with only 3mm of material on each side and still apply the necessary pressure without slipping + Solid built - would love to have a non pointy end for the driving bolt

Just what my husband needed. . .he says it works great. Now what he used it on, I don't have a clue. Just happy he was happy and we found it at a better price than anywhere else.

Well worth the price. Simplifies removal and re-use of bearings.

Works fantasitc used it for multiple diff's. Worth the money.
