UPDATE!!! I've had it for about a year and 9 months and it still is running on the batteries I bought when I 1st got it. I never had to replace them. It works well and like new. I'm a single adult who lives alone if that helps with the idea of how much I use it. I recommend!

Nice! My wife loves having these in the bathrooms. A grocery bag fits perfectly and there is a ring to hold the bag in place. We bought one and then bought a second one because it works so good. The battery lasts a long time.

Fabulous product! It is very sturdy, motion sensors work every time exactly as they should. A game changer in the kitchen!

This is expensive but really worth every penny. It is really hygienic since it is automated. You can charge it or put batteries in it and I like that there are two options. The motion sensor is pretty sensitive but works really well. It does hold quite a bit of trash so it is great for kitchens or anywhere that gathers more trash than other areas. It is pretty easy to clean if need be and the lid is pretty reliable.

Nice trashcan overall – it looks sleek and works well when the motion sensor is functioning properly. The sensor opens the lid quickly and is very convenient for hands-free use. However, I've noticed that sometimes the motion sensor malfunctions, either not detecting motion or staying open longer than necessary. It's not a huge issue, but it can be a bit frustrating. Despite this, it's still a solid trashcan that I would recommend, just hoping the sensor issue is improved.

We love this no touch garbage can. Such an easy accessory for our kitchen. Nice fit. Looks nice in our kitchen space and very durable. Haven’t noticed any high noise level when opening and closing. It has a rim for the bag to fit securely in the can so you can’t see it. Easy removal of the bag it’s not too snug.

I hesitate at the 1 star rating because a 4- or 5-star rating was a fraction of an inch away. But the small failures that occurred made the little trashcan totally useless for me, so 1 star, in the end, is my best assessment of what I got. I have been buying from Amazon since it started, and this is by far the worst failure of the Amazon system I have ever encountered. The worst part is that, as much as anything, the review process seems to have failed, and to me that is scary because Amazon's review system is the crown jewel of the Amazon shopping experience. I did not find one review out of the dozen or so for this product, or for the thousand or so for the larger equivalent product, that said "Please be aware, the maker recommends these trashcans not be used in confined spaces." I need to use this machine under my sink. I was glad to see that the measurements for this were perfect -- the machine stands up under the sink, and the lid can raise full upright in the air, and there is still 3 inches between the lid and the ceiling of the cabinet. And the name of the machine has "motion sensor" in it. But as long as the stationary cabinet ceiling is within a certain number of inches of the lid, the lid is caused to stay permanently open, as long as the trashcan is in the cabinet. I harbored a small amount of hope that the Nine Sensors company customer service might offer a solution to my problem, but the harsh assessments of their customer service are, though a bit strong, basically on target. My experience was that the phone rang for around 5 minutes rather than going on hold. A female finally answered, and I explained the problem, and she said very simply something to the effect of , "We don't recommend these trashcans be used in confined spaces." Am I the only person who places a trashcan under his kitchen sink? How does a motion sensor get activated by a stationary ceiling? How did I miss all the reviews warning about this issue? Then there were the batteries. The Amazon web site has those helpful screen sections where they say, "Customers who bought this product also bought THIS product -- and the product is a set of 'D' batteries. So I ordered the 'D' batteries without double checking the product specs, which I assume would have told me that this smaller product requires 'C' batteries. What happened there? Amazon mixed the smaller trashcan up with the larger one? A whole bunch of other buyers bought 'D' batteries with this product and Amazon just let me know that, and I just became the most recent idiot to do so? The return cost $21, which was almost half of what I paid for the item and the batteries. I suspect it might have cost less if I had taken the packages to a shipper instead of requesting to the Amazon customer service representative that the shipper come pick them up. But I don't know for sure because the Amazon customer service representative never mentioned anything about that. Other than what I mention above, the trashcan appeared to work great. Even with the can pulled out of the cabinet just far enough so that the sensor did not "see" the cabinet ceiling, it worked perfectly. It looked great and would have been perfect, But remember, Nine Sensors doesn't recommend these be used in confined spaces....

Absolutely love this garbage can. I had bought a cheaper one and it started falling apart. This was worth the money.

So far so good...have had it a few months now. It operates very quietly overall, and I am still on my first batteries after 4 months of daily use. The lid stays clean, and so does the body. I cannot detect any regular garbage doors when the lid is down. Mine sits in a open space under a counter with a drawer. If the drawer is not properly shut, though, the lid will stay up. If you plan on placing this under a sink, beware, as it will detect anything above it...hoses, the sink, towels, etc. and you may be disappointed as the lid will not come down in these cases. It is not just ‘motion sense” as in movement, but also as in anything mounted over hovering above it. I hope it continues to perform well, as it looks sharp and it is the most convenient and cleanest garbage can I ever had the joy to own! Shipping was quick as well. Item is very well packaged and was a better price than at other retailers or other brands for this size.
