Sharp tool, quick material removal.e
Very sharp making it easy to remove material quickly with the rough side (oak). The finer side produces good results with minimal sanding needed to achieve a respectable "finish". Wished I had bought something like this years ago rather than spending too much wasted time with the conventional rasp file designs. Recommended.

Often faster/easier than pulling out my router
I often end up pulling out the Shinto rasp to round over corners on smaller projects, rather than setting up my router table, as it's faster, easier, kicks up less dust, and makes a whole lot less noise. The rough side can take things down plenty quick, and the fine side is fine enough that cleaning up things with some 180 grit sandpaper afterwards is pretty quick. The only thing I wish: 1. That they made them in different sizes/coarseness. (An even finer one would be amazing). 2. They made different curved versions to get into concave curves. That said, I still love it. It's earned a proper place amongst my other hand tools that I use regularly.
