I'm looking for something to flatten chicken breast, without having to beat it flat with a mallet. Would this work for chicken breast?

It works beautifully on chicken breasts...we just put them through once. We use ours also, for boneless pork chops to make pork cutlets and for tougher cuts of beef for chicken fried steak or swiss steak...some of those we put through twice and nothing is ever left tuff. We absolutely love ours. We would recommend this machine to anyone.

Is it made in the USA?

it says made in China on the description!! Ugh! Would be nice to have a made in the USA come up right beside it as an option.

Does this work for dry or aleady dehydrated meat?

This jerky slicer cannot be used for dry or dehydrated meat.

Does the meat come out smooth or mushy and chewed up?

It comes out like a cubed steak. I have used it on boneless pork chops and round steak. We like it. I send the meat through 3 times, turning it each time. It is not smooth. It is small squares.
