MusicNomad Precision String Action Gauge Ruler for String Height (MN602)

I have this and a couple of similar items from well known companies. All of them are useful and good but I always reach for this one. The edge with string height marked in 64ths of an inch is something I use for quite a few guitars. It also functions as a fret rocker and has a scale for setting pickup height. It has inches/fractions on one side an metic units on the other. It also has a table listing 1/64th through 9/64ths of an inch with equivalent decimal values for inches and mm in separate columns. The metal is sturdy enough and the lettering is etched and painted.

This is awesome! I do my own setups and this little tool has enabled me to save at least 400$ in setups this year as I own a dozen guitars. It’s portable, easy to use, quality material and sleek design. Very durable also!

Great tool to quickly see how ones action is currently set

This is the most useful string height gauge I have found. As usual, Music Nomad gives you information about the string heights for different functions right on the gauge. The light writing on dark background is the easiest I’ve found to read of any gauge. The gauge is solid and just the right weight. In case anyone needs to know, the gauge is 1/64” - 0.0155” - 0.4 mm thick. It is probably made from 28 gauge sheet metal. I have found Music Nomad products to all be entirely appropriate for their function, durable, and easy to use. They also have really well-produced videos with accurate information on how to use their tools and measure or make adjustments to specific guitar types and brands.

You can get another brand gauge at a much cheaper price. I did that before. However, Music Nomad is one of those "you get what you pay for" brands and this gauge has several added features, including the white on black finish, that make this convenient and easy to use. It functions very well and I have confidence in the quality of their products and the accuracy they provide. They always seem to take an extra step or two to make things more convenient and a bit more useful. That's why I am a repeat buyer of Music Nomad products.

Works well to help me set up my guitars!

This is a little smaller than I thought it would be but it definitely does the job and it's accurate. Not as thin as some have claimed on here and all of the measurements ARE embedded into the metal and then screen printed, not just surface screen printed on a flat surface. Worth the money? When compared to taking it to a luthier to do what I can do myself, YES! Works good for string height, nut height and checking the fret levels on a small scale. The small price alone has likely saved me several hundred dollars in the amount of guitars I own and what it would cost for someone else to do these measurements.

Unlike the StewMac one, it's got 64ths (inches), and a fret rocker. Very easy to read and use, seems accurate and sturdy, and a great value.

Difficult to understand example 4/64 3/64 1/16 I mean some value are difficult to understand ! prize also high product quality was superb I agree no dout but Still it's not the value for money okok product

The edges are perfectly straight and it does what a fret rocker is supposed to do. The best thing however, about this tool is the easily read setup guide imprinted on it. Such a simple idea but absolutely brilliant. Love it. Use it once and you will never reach for your 64ths ruler again. The metal is a little on the thin side but thick enough so that there should never be an issue unless you do something stupid. Compared to the cheaper ones available, to me this is well worth the extra money. It is thinner than a StewMac fret rocker, which I'm sure is a quality tool. Having said that, the StewMac has no markings and is nearly double the price. The Music Nomad works for me.
