Easy to use. Recommend.

There was a review about these dvrs and someone found after connecting to internet there was data being sent to china, about 32mb worth. Im not sure what the data was that was sent, but thats not acceptable. If you want access to your cameras via your phone, just spend the money for a primary computer and a paid security application. Its called blue something, cant remember the full name, but its based in US. Or just google one thats based in US. These chinese dvrs are good enough for cctv but i highly recommend NOT connecting to internet. After about 2 and a half years, this dvr just stopped working. It started beeping about every 60 seconds. It would turn itself off and then back on in a loop. I turned it off and let it rest with no power connected for about 15 mins. Reconnect the power and turned back on and it would just blip on for a couple seconds and turn off, looping. Replaced dvr with newer version. We'll see how long this one lasts.

I was hesitant on getting these based on the previous reviews. I am glad I did purchased these. They works great!!! Also, can pick up license plates clearly if there's no glare from the sun/light. No issues so far.

I would never spend this much money again. Locked out of hard drive and have been trying to access for months. No support available it seems

I bought this ANNKE 4k CCTV camera system for security around my house. I chose this system for its competitive pricing along with the HD quality. The cameras are 8 Mega Pixel, which produces an excellent quality color picture during daylight and very good black & white night vision. Night vision has a range of up to 30m and 8 cameras will continuously record for 3 weeks before overwriting. Motion detection is very good indeed. I have them mounted under the eves at the front of the house and open to the elements at the side of the house. The infrared night lighting gives good picture quality in complete darkness. I had to replace my previous system as the camera quality was poor. I must say the image and video quality on these ANNKE blows my previous cameras out the water, lots of features and I love that the cameras. I'm very happy with the product and would certainly recommend them.

The DVR is NOT capable of recording at the fps that the cameras send information. The 8MP cameras put out 15 fps, but the DVR can only record up to 8 fps, no matter what resolution of recording is selected. A 5MP camera was obtained for comparison and there is essentially no difference in picture quality when you zoom in on the picture. That is because the 8MP cameras included have about 120 degrees of coverage (much wider than the 5MP camera). So of course the resolution doesn't look better. Be careful with coverage area cameras have, just as much as the resolution. I think there is a serious processor power/capacity problem with the DVR, because no matter what record resolution is selected (all the way down to a couple hundred pixels) the maximum fps the DVR allows is 8 fps. So the DVR appears incapable of reprocessing enough for all cameras to record more than 1/2 of the fps the cameras are putting out. For the experimental 5MP camera it should have allowed and been capable of at least 26 fps, but the DVR only allows up to 12 fps. Another 1080p camera was attached that that is actually allowed to record at 30 fps/full. When all cameras were set to record at 1080 the fps was still 8 fps for the 8MP camera, 12 fps for the 5MP camera, and 30 fps for the 1080 camera. E-mails to customer service were answered in about 24 hours, but it took forever to get them to admit that the DVR is incapable of recording at the speed the information comes from the cameras. The final outcome of that exchange was that they are "designing a new upgraded version of DVR". . . . Also, the 8MP cameras are NOT allowed to record in H.265+. Only the 5MP and 1080p cameras were allowed to select that setting. Additionally, the 8MP cameras are not allowed to record with VARIABLE bitrate. If you select variable bitrate and save the setting the next time you look or reload the settings page it will show CONSTANT bitrate again. That CONSTANT setting is confirmed by watching the hard drive bitrate record information for all the cameras. At the highest resolution it is a constant 2,000 Mbps or so, while for the cameras that allow H.265+ and variable bitrate a static picture with no movement has a MUCH LOWER bitrate for recording shown. The limitations all seem to center around the processor in the DVR not having the capacity to handle very much video processing. Certainly not enough for 8 8MP cameras anyway.

I had previously bought a a NNKE product and unfortunately had lower quality cameras so I returned it but I did really like the smart playback feature, and this would be great if they would give you a power cord with their DVR when you buy refurbished, PLEASE SEND ME POWER CORD ASAP AND I WILL MODIFY AND UPDATE MY REVIEW yet HOPEFULLY!!!m

Very easy to understand set up. Plug and play. I have set up four of the eight cameras. Wire is just barely long enough, but got to be creative. All seems to work ideally.
