I bought this tool with a specific project in mind: making personalized Christmas ornaments. It gets very hot, but this tool (unlike some others) has a cushion grip that protects your hand. I used one of the fine tips for calligraphy, so it bend slightly upon repetitive use -- I wasn't surprised, as this wasn't the intended use for that tip. Overall, very pleased. I may even buy more tips for future projects.

Got it today ( 2.22.19 ) tested it out today as well. I had prime so came in one day, very fast shipping. I dont know why this has bad reviews... The pen works wonderfully. Did not burn my fingers. And I used it for about an hour no problems. I have not used any of the tips though, just the one it comes on the pen already. Thank you i am satisfied!!!

I needed this to make some wood-burned Christmas ornaments and it was perfect for the job. I started out with the skinniest tip and it bent/melted, but I changed the tip to the wedge-shaped one and it has been working fine. The tip comes loose so that's pretty annoying because I have to unplug the pen and wait for it to cool down in order to screw the tip in tighter. Overall, it's good for the price for a lighter project. I did not use any of the other tips for my project.

Works wonderfully, just takes a little getting used to. However it does get a little warm when you're gripping it. I used it to personalize a Christmas gift and they loved it!

This is the most wonderful item that really is worth buying ! I am so happy with it this item, I have used it time and time again and with each use it never lets me down. I loved it so much I bought more tips for it. And all my friends and family think this is a Great Item. Worth every dollar !! This is a Great Item so if you are looking for a great wood burner here it is !!

First off there's no protective rubber piece on it that you can hold so you have to hold it at the top near the cord just so you don't burn your fingers. it comes with a flimsy holder that won't stay on the table so you have to tape it down. I used this pen for 2 hours max and when i placed it on the holder the thing slid off my table and fell to the floor, not more that 3 feet away maybe less and the piece I had screwed in to it snapped from the heat. It snapped in half leaving the part you screw in stuck in the pen making it un-useable. So disappointed. Don't go cheap, spend the money on something that won't crap out on you in 2 hours.

It works well with a few tips but once it starts getting warm, the tip starts to come loose. It's kind of hard to try to screw it back in when it is HOT. The grip is a bit too high and stays in the hand a bit awkwardly. Other than that, for the cost of it - it gets the job done!

The set i received is not the one i expected. The soldering iron (the main piece with wire and plug) doesn't have provision to attach the assorted tips to it. The unit is exactly same like the picture but no provision to use the different tips which has male and female threads with the main piece (the red and black soldering iron). Is anyone have a solution for it?

No traía las plantillas (que de igual forma no me eran necesarias, así que no hay problema). Pero en general me encantó! Muy buena compra!
