Someone please help. i like the sound from the headphones, but when i try to use it on my laptop, the mic just won't work! why?

I'd recommend getting an aux splitter if you haven't by now, unless you do not own these headphones anymore/don't have the same computer anymore, etc.

How far (along the cable) from the earpiece is the button that pauses/plays the music?

Hi Amazon Customer, the information we have available is its cord's overall length which is 47 1/4 in. You may refer to this link for its specifications: https://docs.sony.com/release//specs/MDRZX310APB_mksp.pdf Regards, -Mark

Do these headphones have noise cancellation or noise isolation?

Hi Franklin D., No, it doesn't have a noise cancelling feature. You may refer to this link for more information: https://docs.sony.com/release//specs/MDRZX310APB_mksp.pdf ~Ralph
