Prime-Line M 6014 1/2 In. x 1-5/16 In., Stainless Steel with Plastic Tip, Shower Door (Single Pack)

Before I installed this clasp/ lock, my bathroom door would slide open when I cleaned it using a squeegee.After installing this item, it works fine again. The clasp comes with a set of directions. It recommended having a number of Tools ready. Instead, I used an electric screwdriver which took out my existing screws very quickly. Then I installed the new clasp. It didn't work. Whoops! I took it out. Turned it over. Put it back in and made sure that I centered it properly. Then everything worked.I was able to install the new clasp in less than 5 minutes. I'm not sure how durable this installation will be, but I'm happy with the part. I did decide, however, to reinstall the original screws which appear to be a higher quality than the screws that came with the device.I'm happy with the fit, price, and the way it works and looks. Although, to tell the truth, you don't see their clasp very much as it is hidden when the shower door is closed.

I used this to replace the twist lock latch for the passthrough windshield on my boat. The previous latch broke more than once when people shut it with the latch in the closed position. Problem gone now, holds the window from bouncing and easy to push open and closed.

I don't normally write reviews, and when I do they usually aren't negative. This is extremely cheap so it's definitely a "get what you pay for" situation - but this is by far one of the worst shower door latches I've ever had to work with. The spring design is completely ineffective and as soon as you put any pressure on the plastic head it compresses, and the spring pops out. I installed it effortlessly (even though the dimensions were *slightly* off of our standard shower frame which others also mentioned so it didn't properly fit), and it does not accomplish its purpose at all.

The spring on the inside of my original latch broke after 20 years and it was not latching anymore. This part was an exact replacement. I measured before ordering to be sure. Replacement was quick and easy. The part comes with new screws too.This latch depends on the shower door frame to keep the spring in place. If you mess with the spring or white plastic tip before installing, they will pop out of place. I believe this is the problem other reviewers have had.I installed this in less than 10 minutes and most of that time was spent cleaning calcium buildup off the old latch before I could remove it.

Perfect replacement for what I needed - not a shower door, but a very-similar walk-in closet door.

The latch is prone to sticking. Solution is to set the position such that the plastic latch moves as little as possible to hold the door.

Worked to replace previous latch. Required the drilling of a new hole for proper screw alignment. Slight adjustment needed to ensure latch secures door, a simple process. Overall, not an exact replacement for original but basic design was easily adjusted to work

I must have done a have dozen Hardware Stores and Bathroom boutique stores looking for this tiny item to replace the one that broke after 20 years. “Sorry they don’t. Make those anymore. You’ll need to change your full shower door”. It was on a whim (and a desperate one at that) that I searched it on Amazon. Never under-estimate the value of Amazon. Fit perfect and arrived the next day.

Cheap quality! The spring in it does not work. The nylon tip does not spring back out. The spring exploded out of the metal container, I couldn't even find it. Complete waste of money.

Reading the reviews I was a bit hesitant to order this item, but figured I had very little to lose.Upon receiving it, I compared it with my old one, whose nylon tip finally broke after over 50 years of use. The specs and dimensions matched exactly. The only difference was that the new one has a thicker and stronger spring and that the screws are a tad thinner. I spent more time examining and comparing the two than the time it took me to install the new one. So far it works flawlessly. If it lasts half as long as the first one, it will out last me, so I won't have any reason to complain.I did take away 1 Star because the casing/shell has a bit of scuffing. However, I purchased it for its functionality not for its cosmetic looks.For those reviewers who complain that it gave them a hard time and that it doesn't work to their liking, I suppose they are neither too handy, nor attended the "school of jack of all trades, but masters of none".
