Description
Barrington, located between Chicago and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, along the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad corridor (now Metra), has enriched area history from the days of the Potawatomi Indians through the railroad age. Later, Barrington became the stage for relaxed country living away from the busy financial and industrial districts of Chicago. Businesses, churches, and architecture are captured in these historical postcard photographs, along with the people who helped the community grow and prosper. Review: Great collection of old postcards/photos - A neat visual guide to old Barrington. While I realize that the series focuses on photographs, I would really have liked a little bit more about Barrington's history. Review: Memories - Remembering Barrington where a lot of my relatives lived.
