Good questions, the label has no directions on it. It has DMSO and Aloe Vera, aloe is good for skin DMSO can help absorption. DMSO products should be used on clean skin unscented soap and water, from what other products with DMSO share in their instructions. A small amount goes a long way. I think if you're not familiar with DMSO, people have many books here on Amazon to get ideas on uses and history of the material. I would recommend always speak with a doctor about things like these to avoid issues. edz

Does this help with pain??

I used this to successfully remove arthritic pain in my bone on bone arthritic knee. but I also do other anti-inflammatory modalities such as no/very little sugar, PT Videos from YouTube to reduce knee pain as well as eating anything and everything I could that I discovered as anti-inflammatory foods. I was well on my way to reducing the pain when I added this and it took my almost pain-free knee to the next level! Now not only do I rarely have knee pain, but I consume almost no NSAIDs anymore. It is worth the money definitely!
