[Upgraded] 30A PWM Solar Charge Controller with Auto Parameter LCD Display | 12V/ 24V Solar Panel Regulator with Dual USB Port Adjustable Timer Setting

Don't leave it out in the rain. At all. This is replacement for an identical 30Amp unit that evidently didn't survive a shower. It works as advertised, efficiently charging the van house battery from a portable panel. The USB ports are now used to power our USB vent fan with out running a wire up front. If there is a complaint, it is that the LCD screen is a little thin on information. You can see that the accessory output is enabled, whether the battery is being charged at all, if incoming power is detected, and a battery voltage that is precise, but not perfectly accurate. The display is very cute with a state of charge smiley face, but the only time you will accurately know SOC is when the panel shows power, but charging has halted. The rest of the time estimate from a corrected voltage reading. This is the class standard for this type of charge controller. If that isn't good enough, figure > triple the price to get one with actual power flow or SOC information.

Very easy to install. as you can see in the first picture, it is bigger than the one that came with the two 200w panels. One on top rated 30a, bottom this new one 100a. I was not getting much charge to my 380 amp hour battery. "YES THAT IS BIG" with the old one. I do not have any problem vacationing off grid, but it did not charge like it should. My phone app was showing little charge. Now in good sun twenty plus amps is no problem. Now with fire safety. My Tioga came with a 55 amp lead acid charger and a 30 amp breaker. The lithium battery required lithium charger. Lithium charges much faster than lead acid. Lithium battery draws all 55 amps while charging and would trip 30 amp breaker. So I replaced wires from the new lithium 55 amp charger to battery both positive and ground with much bigger copper wire. I installed 80 amp breaker. I am about $500 into everything by searching for good buys mainly Amazon. Note that most 300amp hour batteries will fit in most step areas in most RV,s. But there are some. One taller and shorter that will fit. Do your measuring at least twice.

Product works as described but unable to gage the stated capabilities. This was due to the size of the wire connector ports. They limit the intended use and I was not capable of using for intended set up due to wire gauge size to port compatibility. 30A capable should accommodate a wire gauge suited for the amperage.

Ideal unit for vehicle solar. Excellent price for something so small and electronically efficient. Very easy to set up and equally easy to read "the action". The two USB ports are a true bonus. Electronics would seem to becoming more complicated with each new day. This unit does everything without such chaos. Enjoy

It's small, lightweight, and cheaply made. The instructions were disjointed, seemed lacking, and at first, they said "This controller is only applicable to lead-acid batteries." This would have been enough to pass this by, but now I had it, I went and looked up the [Upgraded] instruction sheet. There were instructions for picking the type of battery, including Lithium ion phosphate. The other problem I have with these is the size of the connector slots. I hard a really difficult time getting 10 gauge wire from the panels installed and *staying in*. This is where the controller FEELS cheap. and the tiny set screws almost required a set of jewelers drivers to tighten them down. I'm still waiting for some of the items for this build to arrive, can't really write a product review until they can be tested, I finally got the deep charge battery, and all I had to spare for wire was 12 gauge to wire the controller to the battery. Since I just wanted to make sure the controller wasn't DOA, as others reported, I decided to go for it (the inverter had its own cable). I was expecting the wires to get warm when I energized the circuit, but other than a few 5V items, I just wanted to see if the panels would feed the controller, the controller would come on and allow me to set battery type, and check the voltage, the inverter would turn on, and that was it. Since it was late in the day, it didn't really charge the battery, but everything appears to work with no heat from the undersized wire. I'll test that as I put the system together with bus bars, a fuse box, breakers, and safe wiring size. But seriously - just because an item is cheap doesn't mean it shouldn't support safe connections using the correct wire gauge (which in this case would be 8 AWG from the controller to the battery - and I bet it wont fit. The bottom line is this: I went cheap on a couple of things, since I'm building this out for a camper from scratch. It not a bad controller, but from reviews, I don't expect it will last long and this is the first time for building one of these, so when it fails, I'll go for an MPPT controller, likely at ten times the cost.

this was exactly what I needed to get my RV solar charging system working. Worked perfectly out of the box and had easy to use instructions

Bought it to charge my car. Hooked up the battery then solar and set the right battery type. It slowly drains my battery until dead every time. And now my truck dies under acceleration. Do not buy. All it’s safety measures were faulty from the start and caused me quite a lot in damages. Terrible don’t buy.

This little thing is really good for the price. It works great at charging my 12V/600Ah/7680Wh lithium battery bank with 24V/1000W of solar. Just be sure to use the right sized wires throughout your system.

En remplacement du même modèle qui a été livré défectueux, mais constaté bien plus du temps de la garantie, donc, en espérant que celui-ci sera opérationnel. Défaut du précédent : fonctionne, mais n'arrête pas la charge quand la batterie est pleine, soit : pousse à plus de 16,5 volt.

Esto me funciona perfectamente, pero desafortunadamente no tengo el equipo para probar si el voltaje que sale del panel se convierte completamente con este dispositivo, pero funciona muy bien tanto para cargar una batería de 12 V como para proporcionar una salida de 5 V para accionar una pequeña luz en el caso de este video. Este era el modelo más básico de controladores que vende Amazon y funciona bien.

Excelente funcionamiento, precio accesible y me ha solucionado incluso para mantener cargada una batería en un vehículo.
