It works out of the bag
Basically plug and play , which is a good . But for the price of the BTech GMRS-50V2 you think it would come with a program cable.

Be sure you are ordering the correct cable for your specific transceiver.
I now have 2 PC04 FTDI USB Programming Cables which is the only reason I give this 4 stars. I don't recall if I purchased the first one from Amazon or where. It received 5 starts. The site where I ordered the cable from directed me BTECH, as being the proper programming cable, so I didn't think twice about ordering. When it arrived I connected it to my Linux PC with the recommended programming software application, CHIRP - from chirp.danplanet.com, then connected it to my BF-F8HF software programmable transceiver. The device is not recognized. Rechecked the connection with the same result. I checked eHam.net to determine if any one else was having this problem. Read about a problem, not with the cable, but with web site order button, and was directed to another web site of a ham that has specific experience and free information about all Baofeng transceivers. Found indication that he discovered customers were being directed to purchase the wrong cable for the BF-F8HF. He contacted the web site and the problem was corrected. I ordered another cable but this time I paid particular attention that I was ordering a PC03 FTDI USB Programming Cable. The correct programming cable arrived and now the BF-F8HF is programmed. Haven't decided if I will keep the PC04 programming cable as a spare. The caution I give a prospective buyer is to be sure that you are ordering the programming cable for the radio you have. I have Baofeng mobile transceiver that requires the PC04 and an HT that requires the PC03. I'm happy now that both radios are programmed. Its difficult to manually program so the programming cable for your particular need, like mine, is required.

Worked for me on Win11 with Chirp
I saw various reviews of different FTDI USB Programming Cables for VHF/UHF radios, many of which indicated that they could not get them to work on Win11. I believe it. Most ham radio operators are very knowledgeable about computers. This one worked for right out of the box (actually bag) on my QYT KT-8900D. The Chirp software did ask me to consent to the fact that the KT-8900D drivers were experimental at this point. I noticed that download was slow, but after pasting in almost 200 memories (200 being the limit for this radio) the upload was surprisingly quick. I think this manufacturer can be trusted for radio programming cables.
