How watertight are they? In a normal rain will waer get inside?

I just looked it appears that water will not enter the container in a normal rain and maybe a heavy rain. The lid overhangs the outside, and the tub rim fits into a u shaped groove in the lid. There would be roomin the groove for a thin self sticking foam seal from the box stores, probably not needed. Hope this helps

Would this hold my hunting clothes, boots, and some other things? Will moisture get inside if it's closed tight?

I have a couple of totes. One is in my pickup trucks bed, 24/7 365 days with no leaking. The other is on my deck holding hot tub chemical, again exposed 24/7 365 days with no leaking (NO water intrusion despite last years 110.6" of snow!). Now, there are NO gaskets, just what we call a torturous path for water intrusion. Think roof shingles. So the tubs must remain upright. All bets are off if stored on its side or upside down.
