Does what it says it will, and holds up the the heat of my mower. I had a fair amount of rust on a zero turn mower that was many years old. I was able to clean that up a bit, and cover it with this. Now that mower looks like new to me, and it runs great. I had no problems with flaking. I have an extra can because I bought two expecting to not have enough in a single can, no regrets there this shows it is a great size. When applying it did go on thick if I did not keep moving, but it still dried to a solid, matte black surface with no visible rust.
