ZWILLING Bellasera 45-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 8, stainless steel

After 15 years of marriage, the flatware I brought to the marriage was falling apart. So, I decided to buy new flatware. The flatware I REALLY love is about $500 for 4 place settings. I still have kids, who tend not to take care of our things. So I looked around for a less expensive alternative. This set is perfect! For the price, you get 8 5-piece place settings, plus 5 serving pieces(butter knife, meat fork, serving spoons)! I ordered 2 sets, so I have service for 16, and it cost me about $160.00! The pieces are beautiful. They are simply styled, and go with my dishes. I think that this flatware would also go well with a variety of other styles, such as modern, Tuscan, eclectic, transitional, southwestern, etc. They are very versatile. I do not have a problem with the weight of this flatware. I was actually surprised how heavy it was, for the price. A lot of low-priced flatware is as light as plastic flatware! This flatware also washes beautifully in the dishwasher. The 1st few times I washed it, it streaked, and I was concerned, because the streaking looked bad. But, that has stopped now, and they come out of the dishwasher shiny and clear! I recommend this flatware to anyone looking for attractive and functional flatware for a good price. I only wish, there was a matching cake server. UPDATE: I've had this flatware for 1.5 years now and it is still in excellent condition. We run 3-5 loads in the dishwasher per week and it still looks great!

I absolutely love this set. They are strong, the knives have a good seration and comfortable to handle. This would make a great gift for newlyweds or a first home.

I ordered this product and received it a day before it was scheduled to arrive, which was exciting!! But about the actual product... The set includes 8 teaspoons, 8 regular spoons, 8 salad forks, 8 regular forks, 8 knives, 1 serving spoon, 1 draining serving spoon, 1 butter knife, 1 clam-shaped spoon, and 1 large serving fork. First of all, let me tell you how downright attractive this set is. The shine is amazing and the design is quite simple. Each utensil came packaged in its own plastic bag (which is recyclable plastic #4), and utensils of a set were banded together. Now, I have hyperhidrosis which causes my hands to sweat A LOT. As I was removing the flatware, I tried not to touch it too much as I figured it would turn out smudged from my hands. Well, the result (even with plenty of handling) was not a single fingerprint!! Using the set is great. It has a very nice weight and the pieces are comfortable to handle. In addition, the knives lay "blade" up (though the blades are not sharp to the touch, so no fear of accidents!), which is a very nifty design to keep mess off the table. Overall, this is my first set of silverware and though my parents have had numerous high quality flatware sets over the years, I feel this set is completely on par with higher-end flatware. Lastly, true 18/10 flatware can be difficult to find online. Having had 18/0 standing in until I received this set, I can now speak for the world of difference that was made yesterday when this package showed up on my doorstep. No more rust! :) I would highly recommend this product.

love the weight and feel. love that i can use the butter knives as steak knives, they cut very well through andouille, prime rib, chicken and veggies and whatever else we eat. i dont need to order a set of steak knives, which is good because we wouldnt have a place to store those without littering our limited counter space even more. we ordered them one month ago and have used them each day, even entertaining friends and family twice in that time. we've used every piece, including the butter server and big slitted spoon and ladle. all of the pieces have been washed several times, almost strictly in the dishwasher at high temps. not a spot of rust or discoloring has occurred. no bends, they are a very nice set for the price. i have boon looking for a set for two-plus years before i finally settled on these. sears had the same set for $168, and belk had a similar set by oneida that was way too flimsy. this set looks great without being too flashy, they are sturdy, 100% dishwasher safe, the knives cut through steak and chicken and veggies, the spoons possess nice bowls, and for the price they are very nice and the set contains many, even if youre entertaining guests.

I am pleased with this flatware set sold by Henckels. The finish is very good and I have not had any issues with washing the set in my dishwasher. The set is made in China, but I think that should be expected for this price point. I found some useful information online about 10/18 stainless steel, magnetism, and flatware. This Henckels set is definitely magnetic as other posters have indicated, but I've read that to increase the strength of certain parts of the silverware, specifically the fork tines and other thin areas of the flatware that need extra strength, a different alloy is used in that area for added strength. When you run a magnet along the fork for instance, it is only magnetic on the tines and where the tines connect to the handle, however none of the handle (which is thick) is magnetic. In comparing to my old flatware set, which was a much cheaper stamped silverware set, the entire utensil was magnetic. In my opinion, I think this is an indication that this Henkels set is designed with quality materials and will last a long time without bending or rusting. The only reason I do not give this set 5 stars is due to the design of the knife. While it is easy to hold and very effective at cutting, it's not very practical due to the fact that it awkwardly balances on the end of the handle. There is no easy way to balance the knife on the edge of your plate while eating, which is desirable since the knife usually is covered in food while eating and you generally avoid putting a dirty piece of flatware on the table. I am very pleased with the build quality and design of the other utensils, which work very well and fit pleasantly in your hand. With the exception of the knife, they stack very orderly in the drawer as well.

I originally bought another set of flatware on Amazon and really didn't like them so I returned and had to pay $12 shipping to return even tho I have Prime. I then went to Macy's and found this flatware in a service for 8 for $158 plus tax and bought them. Then found that Amazon has this brand and their price for service for 8 is $109. I kept the Macy's rather than the hassle of return and bought a service for 4 on Amazon to fill out the set. I spent more than needed by buying through Macy's, but boy do I love this flatware!!! It has a really nice weight, very smooth edges and the finish is a glossy lustre that is just beautiful. It's not a bright silver look, but a deeper silver with a beautiful lustre. I am picky and would not have cheap looking flatware on my table - I will use this set proudly for everyday and for guests. The standing knife has a different feel that took a little getting used to but I really like them. Serving pieces are large and good looking. If you are picky like me, go to a good store and check them out first before you buy on Amazon and save money!! The knives tend to come out with spots when washed in the dishwasher - none of the other pieces do - so I am wiping them before putting away. I hope they last for many years!

I purchased two 45 piece sets of this flatware and am so pleased with it. I love the design of the handles. They feel great in the hand and fit together well in the drawer. Storing service for 16 in my standard-sized silverware drawer is no problem because the pieces "spoon" so well together. There are no sharp edges on the handles, despite their square-cornered appearance. I am perfectly comfortable having my kids use the flatware. The knives feel heavy for their size, which I like, and they cut through meat much better than standard place setting knives. I don't anticipate having to use our steak knives for anything. I was pleasantly surprised by this, but I guess I shouldn't have been since the flatware was manufactured by a knife company. The knives sit on their edge, which takes some getting used to, but makes a really unusual and interesting place setting. I have run the flatware through both handwashing and the dishwasher several times now and see no evidence of rusting or spotting. I specifically wanted 18/10 stainless for this reason. Both my handwashing and automatic diswashing detergents are lemon scented, but there have been no problems. The directions that come with the flatware contain really helpful suggestions - items you don't want to soak your flatware with, etc. The five serving pieces that come with the set are: Cold meat fork, serving spoon, slotted serving spoon, butter knife and sugar shell. The first three are of a good size that we'll use every day. The cold meat fork's tines flare out slightly, which is very attractive.

I love the polish and shine of this set! It feels solid! I love how the knives fit on the plate and rest blade vertical! :)
