Put it over your thumb and bring behind your wrist and wrap over your wrist. If you're skinny & bony, you will just have more to wrap around.

Have never done any tumbling but I don't see why not. The thumb hole helps keep it in place and it does add some support.

Can I use the same wrist wrap for both right and left hand?

Yes they can be used on either hand. The will sort of start to shap to the hand/wrist it is warn on, but not so you could nor swap it up.
