Chef Boyardee Beef Ravioli, 15 oz

We’ve been working nonstop getting our farmstand ready to open in a couple of weeks, so my usual meal prepping has definitely taken a back seat. I’ll admit, I actually felt a little guilty serving my husband and brother-in-law canned ravioli for supper—but my husband was excited! He said Chef Boyardee Beef Ravioli was something he ate all the time during his single days, before we got together four years ago. I heated up two 15 oz cans, divided them between three bowls, and I STILL had some left over. That honestly surprised me and makes the serving size much better than I expected. Both of them cleaned their bowls completely and wanted theirs with slices of bread for dipping up the extra sauce. Taste & texture: The ravioli were tender without completely falling apart, there was plenty of tomato sauce, and the filling had that familiar savory Chef Boyardee flavor. It isn’t trying to be homemade ravioli, but for a quick pantry supper it absolutely hit the spot—and apparently brought back some pretty good memories for my husband! Freshness: Everything tasted exactly as I would expect from a freshly opened can, with no odd aftertaste or texture. Versatility: I served ours simply with sliced bread, but this would also be easy to dress up with garlic bread, grated cheese, herbs, or even use as an easy lunch when there isn’t time to cook. Healthiness: This is definitely more of a convenient comfort-food meal than something I’d consider a health-focused dinner, but sometimes convenience matters too—especially during an unusually busy week. Helpful buyer note: Two 15 oz cans were enough for three adult bowls in our house with some left over, so if you’re wondering about the actual amount before ordering, it stretched farther than I expected. Will this replace my homemade meals? No—but after watching two empty bowls come back to the kitchen, I’m keeping a few cans in the pantry for those nights when life gets ahead of me. Quick, inexpensive, filling, and apparently husband-approved!

Makes a great sandwich too. Arrange the Ravi squares on a slice of Brioche and top with slice of mozzarella cheese. Nuke until hot, top with other slice of bread. Serve.

I have never purchased a bad can of this product. I was looking forward to a quick lunch that was not a sandwich. There is always enough sauce for the pasta. The ravioli themselves are plump with meat filling. Since childhood I have not worried about the quality of what comes out of this can. It is always fresh, and you still have the al dente texture. It's just one of those things you trust. It has not changed in decades. However, with all that said, I was a bit disappointed at the new power it has acquired. The cans have apparently learned how to disappear. Just after my great grand left, I went to the pantry to enjoy ravioli and a salad....I could not find that can anywhere! Guess I am not the only one who counts on the Chef to be consistently good.....
