Low quality.
Book quality is very low. Expensive for this paper quality.

An oldie but such a goodie!!
Really enjoyed this series as a child and wanted to have my son enjoy it too. Wasn’t sure if he would. He loved it! He rereads this first book over and over again. Actually he also rereads the other ones too. Overall such a great fun adventure - feels like you’re there and gets the imagination going. The type of book you don’t have to worry about your kid reading. Very appropriate for kids.

Review by S.M. (7 years old)
It's an adventure book. Don't be scared of all their adventures, because in the end it all turns out well. I really enjoyed it. I would like to read more books like this.

Love this book!
Remember reading this in elementary school and liking the idea of these resourceful little kids actually making a home for themselves. Even at the time I questioned whether children would be so overlooked that no one was wondering where they came from, but the beauty of the story is how it might have been possible at that place in time. The little day to day of finding or acquiring food, shelter, and security are amazingly well done. This is more a book for younger kids, but some early teens might like it. It also might be good for struggling readers as it is an engaging story without complicated vocabulary. After all, this is the story of 4 young kids making a home for themselves out of an abandoned train car. This is a hardcover edition, which I purchased for longevity. The cover is very nice looking with gold foil lettering over a red cover. Highly recommend this book to all young readers
