how big is this? in inches?

Very deceiving...only about 16"...but comes in one meter size as well. ..From the description, "EarthBall 16-inch diameter photo-realistic inflatable globes and one-meter globes look beautiful in classrooms,...."But I also found the 40" one online....Giant Inflatable Earth Globe by Planet Earth 3 customer reviewsPrice: $101.39 + $6.49 shippingLightweight vinyl 40" diameter globe of the earth as seen from space by NASA satellitesCities of the world depicted in photo-luminescent glow-in-the-dark ink to offer gorgeous space-view)

CAn it be inflated with helium?

Just an opinion - I used to inflate balloons - It probably depends on the size. I don't think the vinyl will be too heavy on the larger sizes. They should float better and longer due to their having more volume relative to (heavy) surface area. Also, mix some air with the Helium and it should stay afloat longer.
