Very impressive sound for the price. Still in daily use after 3-years.
I bought this as a gift for my son. As he is always losing things, I didn't want to invest a huge amount of money in a speaker for him. What I wasn't expecting, was the very high quality of the Soundcore3. It's a wonderful little bit of kit. The sound quality and volume is impressive for the price. It is rubber coated so it's quite durable, and the battery life is equally impressive. Three years on, he's still using it daily. I would highly recommend this for a budget friendly speaker for travelling, or just to use around the house.

Impressive for the size and price
Considering the price this is very good quality for the money and for the size it also has an impressive sound output which is more than capable of filling a large room at higher volumes. It's also quite weighty which only adds to the feel of its quality and I like the rubberised build which helps a lot when handling. I was impressed with just how easy it is to connect to bluetooth using my Google Pixel 6a phone as well as another bluetooth phone (Sony Z5) - and once the connection has been set up the unit and phone quickly connects the next time as soon as it recognizes that I have bluetooth turned on my phone. There is also an App which can be downloaded which allows for customisation of the equalizer and this is important because not everybody will want the extra bass boom (which this thing is more than capable of delivering!) that comes as 'factory' settings out of the box. In regards to the sound quality one must remember that these are small speakers in a small cabinet and therefore there is obviously some sort of trickery to make the audio output sound 'loud' and 'bassy' when required. Nevertheless, all in all, I have been happy with the audio tests that I've conducted using several different genres and, as long as one remembers that this is not 'hi-fi' equipment I can honestly say that I think most purchasers of this product will be more than happy with the sound it produces, especially as I think it is designed and marketed for a younger crowd who want 'beats' wherever it my be transported to. Also impressive is the battery life - I've had this playing at work over several days at a low to medium setting with a completely flat EQ setting (still more than bassy and loud enough in my office setting) and it has lasted for over 24 hours without needing a recharge. The App gives a more detailed battery life reading than just the white light on the unit changing to indicate when it needs a recharge. I can recommend this item wholeheartedly and would purchase again if ever I wanted a second one or replacement (but presuming that the build quality is a good indication that this is built to last at least a few years yet!).

Little box, Big sounds. Amazing.
For a little unit, this really packs a punch. The sound quality is fantastic and you can connect multiple units to each other if you fancy a party. For the price it is outstanding.

Great, but no bass?
Good sound quality and good battery, very well made and sturdy but it is missing any bass, even when playing with the EQ in the app it is definitely not what I would have expected for the price, I planned on pairing 2 of them up to have in the garden and while it would be loud enough there would be no bass to the music at all.

A lot better than expected
Picked this up as pretty much an impulse buy after reading some good reviews on how good it is for the price. I've only had it a couple of days but it feels like a noticeable quality of life upgrade. Gets plenty of use either in day-to-day when exercising or getting ready and it's easy to carry about. Solid audio quality, especially for the price and like a lot of the other reviews say, the amount of bass boosting is surprising for such a cheap and small speaker. Next thing for me to do is get a carrying case as I'm expecting it to leave the house more often now that I know it's good

Surprisingly Good
I didn't know what to expect in terms of volume and bass management but for what it is i would totally recommend it. During this summer it has become my go to musical device. It is very versatile device and very easy to connect to your mobile phone/ laptop/PC and away you go. The range of the device is ok but not brilliant, However i haven't really had an opportunity to test this in an outdoor space and indoor spaces can be affected by other devices. It is built really well and has a sleek modern appearance, has excellent volume and bass, also the battery life is very good and the power lasts for a long time

Excellent speaker and user control
I love the Soundcore 3 (S3) speaker. It has fantastic sound reproduction at a really low price. Initially, the speaker is configured to have a blinking light and sound effects when switching on/off or connecting to devices but these can be switched off, if you read the instructions very carefully. I finally decided to buy a dedicated BT speaker to save my portable Guitar amp from being abused for the role. Of all on the market, the Anker really stands out for features and price, plus, my daughter has had a Soundcore 2 (S2) for a few years and so I knew how good they were. In comparison with an S2, the S3 has improved bass and so I can listen to podcasts at lower volume. Phone calls are also excellent quality, with the ability to hold one call whilst answering another too, as with the S2. The app really takes this unit to another level as one can shape the sound or control the configuration, like turning off the sound effects. Through the app, one can activate a bass boost, for use only with the pre-configured soundscapes. However, I have found that, for podcasts, customising the sound with the EQ low levels raised is far more effective for getting a deep timbre. So, I won't be using the 'voice' setting. Physically, the S3 is larger than the S2. As a motorcyclist, who travels extensively and works from location to location, size is a critical logistical factor. I personally love the size of the S2 and think that were I to need the Aux in socket, which is removed on the S3, I would probably have bought it over the S3 for practical reasons. I think the rubber coating is possibly a little more robust too. What has been improved for the S3 are the buttons which require less pressure to activate and travel a shorter distance to those of the S2. These differences make using the speaker far more pleasant but, of course, only noticeable if comparing the S2 to the S3. Effects and turning them off --------------------------------- There are two effects used by the speaker when you first switch it on. A blinking white BT light to the right and sound effects when switching on, off or connecting to devices. I find both effects pointless and distracting so I was very pleased to learn they can be switched off. To do so, however, is not immediately obvious and so I thought I'd include the steps here. 1. Switching off blinking white light. To turn off, or rather switch light to stead blue, press and hold the BT symbol until the light turns blue. Repeat to go back to a white blinking light 2. Turn off all sound effects. You will require the app to turn off the sound effects which are activated when switching on or off the speaker, and when entering the various connection settings. Rather confusingly, the setting is called 'Voice prompt'. Turning 'Voice prompt' off will mute all effects. I think my confusion came when I associated 'Voice prompt' with electronic assistants, like Siri! Still, if you've read this far, you now know it is simply a poorly labelled feature. Summary ----------- The Soundcore 3 is a great BlueTooth speaker with excellent sound reproduction and great bass response for use with podcasts. The buttons and robust rubber exterior are enhanced from that of the previous model. It is also larger and more heavy that its predecessor. Whilst there are lighting and sound effects initially, these can be muted or switched off to minimise distractions. A great addition is the inclusion of a well thought out App to control the sound profile some config settings of the speaker.

Just buy it!
Seriously, don't even question it, just buy one. I've had one of the Soundcore Mini's from Anker before, and I was really impressed with that, and this is just a slight step up in size. It's very portable, you can definitely take it with you anywhere, and the sound quality is just absolutely fantastic. I have really good noise-cancelling headphones. I do like to have good quality sound, and I just don't know how these guys do it for the price. Because I would really struggle to find any difference between this and a speaker five times the price. I'm a big drum and bass head, and that requires a lot of highs and deep sub bass, and this speaker hits it all. It's not quite party loud, but it will certainly fill a room at high volume, with a mild distortion at max as you would expect. You can certainly listen to this at a hefty volume, certainly enough to annoy the neighbours without any distortion. Seriously, if I could give it six stars, I would.

Soundcore 3
Zeer tevreden over het product. De speaker is in werkelijkheid wat kleiner dan hij overkomt op foto's/video's. Bediening is eenvoudig en het geluid is fantastisch.

[UPDATED] Great product, even better customer service
------------------------------- START OF NEW REVIEW ----------------------------- The day my original review (below) got published (July 29, 2022), Marvin from Anker Customer Support contacted me regarding my issue. He was professional, understandable, and offered me a solution - receive a new speaker to remedy my faulty one, without the need to return the one I purchased! I took him up on this offer as I believed my original unit was faulty. On Aug 2, 2022, Marvin notified me that the new speaker was ordered, and the next day (wow) it was delivered to my door. Lo and behold it arrived at 60% (again), and after ~2 hours of high-volume playback it had only dropped 10%. I continued to use it for the rest of the day and am happy to say this device has 24h battery life as advertised. The sound quality is just as good as the first one, so it really was just a battery issue. Thank you Anker for the wonderful customer support and quick resolution to my problem. ------------------------------- END OF NEW REVIEW ------------------------------- --------------------------- START OF ORIGINAL REVIEW --------------------------- I own the original Anker Soundcore (1st gen) and wanted to upgrade to the 3rd generation while it was on sale for $70 CAD. Item arrived on time and in typical high-quality Anker packaging. Removed device from box and bag to find a few smudges around the speaker but I didn't think much of it. Connected seamlessly to my phone (the speaker was at 60% when it arrived), downloaded the Soundcore app to play with the EQ settings, and listened to music for around an hour and a half. Before I knew it the music stopped and Bluetooth disconnected, I thought something was up with my phone but I realized the speaker had turned off (it was dead!). The battery drained from 60 to 0 in ~ 90minutes of mid-volume listening. My Soundcore 1 would last significantly longer than this despite its age. Although both devices are rated for 24 hours of playback, clearly that is not the case with the product in my hands. The next day (today) I charged it to 100% and played music at a low volume in the background while I worked. Battery duration was around 5 hours. ------- TLDR ------- PROS: Speaker build and sound quality blow the original Soundcore out of the water. Having the app to customize your EQ profile is a great plus as well. Comes with USB-C charging cable and heavy-duty nylon strap to loop into the built-in holes. CONS: Unacceptable battery life, my suspicions are either from a used unit (hence the smudges/fingerprints when opening), or just a faulty battery. @Anker, please let me know what's going on! --------------------------- END OF ORIGINAL REVIEW ---------------------------
