Ideal Business Setup
No issues or hassles. The directions had good pictures to follow along. I use this for business (no gaming) for zoom meetings, lots of open tabs, and six monitors while having the flexibility of a laptop. The reviews here on Amazon were a little intimidating, however I found the installation of this eGPU and video card to be straightforward plug-n-play and the product to be excellent as advertised. It was easy enough to do myself without needing the manufacturer's support desk. I added 64Gb RAM to my laptop and a Radeon R7 350 HD7750 4GB to this eGPUex. The internet port and 4 usb ports on this eGPUex model eliminated the need for a separate dock to have just one usb thunderbolt cord to my laptop. To have a clean desk, I used a simple under desk laptop mount. I also used a pc under desk mount. I combined two monitor stands for three monitors each on a single extended pole. I added a reinforcement plate for my standup desk for the mount which gives good stability. I used adhesive clips and adhesive cable ties to manage all the cables underneath my desk. I also got a pebbles sound speakers so I wouldn't need a headset and Bluetooth for mouse, keyboard to not need a docking station and reduce the number of wires.

Works great when it works
This is a great product. I fit mine with a Rtx 3060 Ti. I have an Intel tiger lake with Xe graphics and they both function on the laptop screen. Like if you max out the external, the internal will start picking up. eGPUs in general can be kinda finicky though. I have an infrequent problem where my laptop will drop the eGPU to save battery and going full tilt the break box can't quite keep my battery topped up. I had the luxury of adding a second charger and didn't have any more issues. Upgraded to 5 stars as I found out I had some configuration issues causing my problem.

EGPU Enclosure Comparison
I am posting this review to all of the EGPU enclosures that I tried in the hopes that it might help someone else that's trying to make a purchase decision. I'm ranking these from most favorite to least favorite. My primary goals are to be able to run 4x 1440p external monitors and I want the unit to be super quiet and reliable. I tested each with the following equipment: 1. 2019 16" MacBook Pro 2. Dell XPS 13 9305 and 7390 3. Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 3 4. AMD 5500XT GPU 5. Nvidia 1060 GPU 6. Four Acer 27" 1440p displays 1. Cooler Master MasterCase EG200 - while the most expensive out of the bunch, it is my favorite due to best compatibility, reliability, and lowest noise level in my experience. This one also seems to have the best build quality and easiest to replace the PSU later if I ever want to. Also includes a built in stand for my laptop. 2. Razer Core X Chroma. Great build quality but the case fan and PSU fans are both far too loud for my liking. I also could not get the ethernet port to work with my MacBook Pro 16" but that worked fine with my Windows laptops. The PSU and fan also seems harder to change if I ever want to do that in the future. 3. Sonnet Breakaway Box 750ex. Great feature set but not clearly not built as well as the Cooler Master or Razer and more importantly I could not get it to work at all with any of my equipment so worthless to me. 4. Sonnet Breakaway Box 750. Same story as #3 but thought perhaps I just had bad luck with the 750ex. Nope! Could not get it to work with any of the equipment listed above.

Works great with a Sapphire Radeon 6800 Pulse
Finally pulled the trigger on a EGPU and the Sonnet Breakaway Box has been great. While the Radeon 6800 barely fit, it did fit after a little bit of finagling. Very quiet even while gaming and provides a nice boost while gaming, more than doubling my fps in some games, compared to the MacBook Pro's built in Radeon 5500m. Only issue is opening and closing the enclosure is not the smoothest, but rarely needs to be done and no internal HD connectivity for a SSD so I am using an external HD though one of the provided rear USB ports. My configuration is a MacBook Pro 16" with an intel i9 CPU and 5500m GPU, an Asus ROG 43" ultrawide 3840x1200, and the Sonnet Breakaway Box 750ex with a Sapphire Radeon 6800 16gb Pulse GPU.

Useless on a Mac
I bought this hoping that I would be able to hook up an external GPU to my Premiere Pro hardware accelerated video rendering. However, due to Apple's brain-damaged policy on not supporting NVIDIA graphics cards, all you can use are AMD GPUs which are not well supported by Adobe, and give you little to no improvement in the performance of your graphics processing. This might be good for gaming. I don't know. I don't game on my Mac. Do not buy this for your mac if you want to improve your video rendering. Instead: sell your mac and build a good PC, and then buy a decent NVIDIA card and simply install it in the PC case. Problem solved. Speaking of my Mac, I bought it so I could upgrade to a decent video editing platform. Looks like Mac isn't the computer for doing that any more. I hate to say that Windows--the awful and the ugly--just has better hardware support. I'm kinda regretting dumping the thousands of dollars into this stupid machine. But I guess that's what happens when it takes 5 hours to render a 24 minute video--in between the moments where you're just praying to God that the render is correct and you won't have to do it all over again to fix some dumb problem.

Great for using extra GPU with hand held gaming system such as onexplayer
Worked out perfectly to add egpu, network and USB ports to my onexplayer s1. Currently have an AMD Vega 56 installed with no problems. Love the ability to upgrade GPU as needed.

I love this thing
I bought this because my desktop broke and I haven't been able to build a new one due to the GPU shortage. I'm using it with a GTX 970 and a Dell XPS 13 from 2017. The build quality is just as good as any desktop case I've ever come across. This device has enabled me to play videogames again after a much too long break. I'm currently playing Sekiro and could not be happier with the breakaway box. My GPU isn't listed on the compatible GPU list, but it still works great. I'm glad I bought the version with the dock because I only need to plug one cable into my laptop for charging, mouse, keyboard, headset, and ethernet. Feels like magic, being able to plug a GPU into my laptop over USB. I love this thing.

Nice container fits well
Had an issue with the power supply. It was DOA on arrival. Replaced it and it works great.

Great for use with an Intel NUC.
We wanted to try out Minecraft with ray-tracing and the onboard Intel Iris graphics of my NUC i7 was obviously not going to be enough. Rather than replacing the computer, I decided to add an external graphics card using this eGPU housing. I was pleased to buy it on special offer at 345 Euro which was a great price (price seems to fluctuate quite a lot as stock comes and goes with different suppliers). The case is much bigger than I had expected, but I guess that is necessary to house the power supply and to fit the longer graphics cards. I went with a Asus GeForce Dual RTX 3060 12GB V2 OC Edition Gaming Graphics Card (DUAL-RTX3060-O12G-V2) for about 295 Euro, which fitted easily: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B096658ZWP Noise is very low. I would say it is actually silent compared to the fans of my NUC11 i7. Build quality seems very high, with good instructions for opening the case and installing the graphics card (not that this is exactly difficult to work out for yourself anyway!). The external USB ports on the back of the unit are very useful, and mean that I have been able to get rid of a USB hub that was needed for webcam, sounds and DVD writer. All works perfectly. The result - we can now play Minecraft with way better ray tracing graphics at between 50-60 fps. Ok so the graphics might be a little held back by being in an external enclosure compared to plugged directly into the motherboard, but the RTX 3060 was enough for what we wanted. Maybe the limitations of an eGPU enclosure are only significant with faster graphics cards? So I now have a decent PC for gaming, but also a tiny NUC that I can disconnect and easily carry when I need to work away from home. Almost best of both worlds, so I'm pleased. Be sure to check the list of compatible graphics cards on the SoNNet website before purchasing to make sure it fits (but almost every card I checked seemed to be on the list). **Conclusion** I would 100% recommend, very pleased in every respect, but worth watching the price for a while and buying when it is on offer.

Aucun problème pour cette egpu
Fonctionne parfaitement, ma carte graphique RTX 4060 ti 16gb rentre parfaitement malgré ça taille. Ce qui a amélioré largement mon pc du côté gaming. Franchement je le recommande 🙂.

Easy to set up and looks good
A nice looking box, though you need plenty of space for it. Great that the integrated power supply includes the necessary cables and that there is a thunderbolt cable to connect to my laptop. Having these makes the setup super easy.
