I have been doing a lot of reading on the subject of Borax/Boron. It appears you need to do a dosage based on the ELEMENTAL AMOUNT YOU GET, NOT THE MILLIGRAM AMOUNT! Apparnently, 30mg of Boron is equivilent to just 3mg of elemental Boron. This may explain why Borax was basically banned in Europe (much higher elemental content) BUT not the much lower (ELEMENTAL) dose BORON PILLS?! From what I have read, the most benefits from Boron are seen when you base your dosage on the elemental measurement...not the Milligram dosage. We are all different and we would all need different amounts to be effective. One lady (Fly Girl) who's book in on Amazon, talks about how she increased her doage over several weeks until she started to notice a big change in her pain and discomfort. From the dosages she mentions, she was obviously reaching a higher (and therefore more effective) elemental dose of Boron.
