Levantine Colloquial Arabic Vocabulary

This is a great book!! The Kindle version is easier to use just because you can type in the words you are looking for but it's always good to have the hard copy. Each section is based on a category and that category has almost all the words you would need to have a conversation. Note* This is more so of a Vocabulary book (dictionary) as opposed to a conversational book. The main regional dialect is Lebanese based out of Beirut; however, If you are focusing on Jordanian, Palestinian, or Syrian this is still a great book for you!! I encourage all Arabic learners who are focusing on the Levantine dialect to get this!

Great book that bridges gap between non-Arabic reading speakers

This book has a lot of important vocabulary. It gives you a pronunciation guide to understand the difference between different sounds, which is important since many sounds have no English equivalent. Almost everything I want to know how to say is covered in this book. Very happy with the purchase. However, I did notice many mistakes and chose to take off a star because of this. Again, I still think it's a worthwhile purchase!

It's very difficult to find Levantine specific books. This book is great providing translations, examples and pronunication. I would recommend for people in the beginning levels or just need a refresher of important vocabulary.

I got this book to help my independent learning of Arabic. Most of my friends are Syrian it from a country where they speak the leventine dialect. For the most part, they find these translations to be accurate. Use this book in conjunction with another that covers grammar. And most importantly, speak with friends or others learning. That is the best way to learn aside from full language immersion.
