I bought this for my 13 year old and have found my 12 year old using it too. It is not complicated to use. I think it would work for most ages over 6 as long as the interest is there. Obviously the knitted items made by the older kids might be of better quality, but it’s fun for all ages.

What is the recommended yarn to use with your looms?

Bulky yarns work best with these looms. I just finished my first project on the next-to-the largest loom. I used Red Lion Homespun Thick and Quick super bulky yarn. I made a thick and warm beanie hat that fits both my husband and me. If you want a looser knit, maybe for a scarf that can drape, you can use a thinner yarn. For a hat to match that scarf, you can use the same thinner yarn and double it. (Pull it from 2 skeins at the same time.) One suggestion, though, is to use a bulky yarn that's evenly twisted for your first project, if you've never used a loom before.

Question 4

What are the gauges for each loom. A gauge can be measured from the middle of one peg to the middle of the next peg. 1/2, 3/8, 5/8, 3/4??
