Simple and Effective
Simple and effective. More in tuned with my plants now that I can gauge how watered they are. Even works for bottom watering.

Something you didn't know you needed
This help in small potted house plants. They really let you know when you need to water!

4 of them didn't work.
I changed my review from 1 star to 5 star because the error was mine and that's why 4 out of 5 of them didn't function. Since then I've bought 15 more and will continue to but in the future. These really do work great and I can tell at a glance if my soil is wet, moist or damp depending on how saturated the strip is.

I’ve killed every plant I’ve ever owned until I bought these!
I’ve killed every plant o ever had, until I bought these!!! Trust me you’ll going to love these. You just look at the indicator every day and if it’s white you water. Easy peasy. Photos are attached for proof! The pic of the big plant is the same one but now with continued, correct watering.

Works as intended, could be better
They seem to work fairly well, my only gripe is that the color change from pink to blue is not significant enough. It is difficult to tell just when you’re supposed to water them. You still have to stick your finger in the pot. It does alarm you to when you might want to stick your finger in the pot, however. I bought these for my 82-year-old mother to try and remind her to water her orchids. It’s been working fairly well.

Very Helpful indicators
When I first ordered these, I didn't realize that they came in small, medium and large. I also did not realize that they last 6-9 months. They do work well but I think they are expensive now that I realize they will stop working. New inserts are kind of expensive too. I think I will look for a longer lasting or more permanent alternative. I may look into purchasing the indicator that is used and try recharging them myself but maybe too much of a bother.

These didn't work for me.
I have no idea if I'm using these wrong, but I followed the directions and they never did anything. Went back to sticking my finger in the dirt.

Nifty little soil moisture sensors for small pot plants - inner core is replaceable, enviro friendly
These little soil moisture sensors are quite nifty but I found the instructions a little vague, it took me a while to work them out. I've put mine into the soil of my potted Moth Orchids, as it's super important not to over-water them. The moisture sensors are smaller than a ballpoint pen (12cm long). The lower section, which goes into the soil, has 4 small openings - 2 higher and 2 lower. Between them are 2 tiny arrows pointing towards each other. When you insert the sensor into the soil, the soil level should be between the 2 arrows, so that the 2 lower openings are in the soil (absorbing moisture) and the 2 higher openings are above the soil. You then water the plant and the 3.5cm white inner core at the upper end will change from white to blue as it starts absorbing moisture. This happens pretty quickly. It will stay blue whilst there is enough moisture in the soil, and will gradually change back to white as the soil dries out. The small instruction sheet says that the natural fibre core can be eaten by microorganisms and has to be replaced when it stops turning blue after watering (approx 6-12 months). The 2cm green 'lid' on the top is removable so you can replace the inner fibre core, very environmentally friendly. Product is made in Japan.
