Highly recommended general purpose monocular.
Very good monocular for general use. Perfect size to carry around and the view through it in all conditions is very good. It also feels very good in the hand and is well protected from the elements. I can highly recommend this product.

Very fine and rugged Optic, then falls apart
Before you read onward their Warranty is great and they are fixing the problem I talk about below. Their VIP Warranty is real. Great Optics for the money. I do have a very hard time getting my eye lined up properly to see out clearly. Especially in lower light situations I fight like heck to find that sweet spot so I can actually see what I am looking for. I think the solution for my eyes and this Optic is an aftermarket Eyecup Extension ?that seals the outside light from getting between the eyeball and Optics. Getting the proper size I think its a 32mm diameter eyepiece. There are a lot of them out there to choose from and I am still searching for the one I want. I bought it mainly for nighttime use to help me spot Coyotes and bad guys out to ambush us. Being in San Diego there is no such thing as darkness outside. The Light Pollution is bad but thats helpful for Passive Night Vision. These fine Optics pull in a good amount of the visible light out there so in effect act light Night Vision to some degree. For me its just enough to where I can spot troubles ahead long before they can get at us in return. The ruggedness is impressive. I got trapped in between a high wall and building and to climb my way out of there banged my Monocular hard as well as ground it into that wall hard enough to bruise my whole chest and abdomen having all of my weight rolling over it with force too. They suffered no damage whatsoever. I wiped the concrete and paint off the armored coating and they look like new again. Using a fine brush like a Shaving Cream Brush or large Makeup Brush to wipe the dirt before using a Microfiber wipe to clean the lenses is advised. And I think a 3rd Party Extended Eyecup would make these a mandatory piece of equipment for all outdoors peoples. The rubber eye cup fell off but prior to I kept getting scratchy dust particles in my eye and when I looked close saw a bunch of fine crystals I thought were powder glass from grinding the lenses! But when it started falling apart I realized the glue they used to hold everything together must’ve been very old and simply disintegrated. I’ve been trying to clean all that glue out so I can use Loctite on these Lefthand Threads. Took me a minute to realize everything screws down backwards on this. The plastic eye cup part the rubber one fits over is plastic and very rough grooves for the spline to ride on to bring it out or take her in for the eye. I’m gonna try some Hoppes #9 gun oil and see if that doesn’t help it move. Well it’s not nearly as tough as I initially thought. It’s still useful for seeing bad guys in low light before they can get at me so still worth having. Some TLC and a lot of Loctite and it should be okay for what I need it for.

Go for 8x36
The 8x36 is fantastic. Great field of view, beautiful clear picture, nice to hold. More magnification means more “wobble” when you hold it and you end up seeing less detail than 8x
