I have 6 zones of 2 speakers. Can I play separate audio in all 6 zones at the same time? TV, MP3 player, iTunes, etc??

Assuming your 2 speakers in each zone are in stereo, no. For 6 zones, you would need 12 channels (2x6), and this amp is only an 8 channel amp. If however you only had four zones, yes--this amplifier has individual inputs for each 8 channels but keep in mind that is does not provide switching so whatever device (input) is plugged into that 'zone' will be the one played--you can not switch inputs without plugging and unplugging cables in the back. If you wanted easy switching, you would need a seperate pre-amp/switcher kind of device to do that. (And to clarify for others, you can also plug in stereo inputs and the amp can internally cascade the same signal throughout all 8 channels (in stereo x4).

can i connect the amp using rca from the speaker output of receiver into amp? and if so can i control the volume that way?

You can probably connect it to your receiver, but it wouldn't be from the speaker out. Some receivers have a "pre-out" connection. It would come from there. With an additional device to control the volume between the receiver and this amp, you could also use the line-out from your receiver. Failing both of those options, you could order an adapter and use your receiver's headphone out - klugey but effective.

Can you hook up an equalizer to this amp?

It depends on the equalizer but many of them use RCA Jack outputs which will go into the input jacks on this camp so it should be no problem

versatile, powerful and heavy! love it!

this thing is flat out awesome!! it has so many features and sounds so good. what value. i have had a few configurations and no issues whatsoever. if you’re planning on running sound to different sets of speakers, or build out your own custom room this will do the trick. all eight channels can get a shared or individual input and have their on gain knob. fantastic analog equipment. it is big and heavy as you would expect. my only complaint is the gain knobs on each channel are on the back. not a big deal if your setting them once and controlling the volume from a different source, but due to the size and weight i had to mount it in a custom rack/ shelf backwards because i wanted to easily adjust these without a second device. so i guess i wish the gain knobs we’re on the front of the device. or better yet, on the back and front.

Really good buy

The specs on this are good. I have been using it for a month now to power a passive subwoofer and two tactile sound pucks. I really like the simplified wiring and this is performing better than what it replaced for less money. The online docs and the printed docs which came with it say 4ohm. But the back is printed 8ohm. This print error was not disclosed but I feel like I hit the jackpot. It seems to me to be a good amp with a discounted price due to a board misprint. Its a recommended buy from me.
