DESCRIPTION:over 100 fully-solved examplesstep-by-step solutions with explanationsstandard problems from physics with calculusincludes tables of equations, symbols, and unitsThis volume covers electricity and magnetism, including electric field, Gaussโs law, electric potential, capacitance, resistance, Kirchhoffโs rules, RC Circuits, right-hand rules, magnetic field, the law of Biot-Savart, Ampereโs law, Faradayโs law, Lenzโs law, inductance, AC circuits, Maxwellโs equations, and more.AUTHOR: The author, Dr. Chris McMullen, has over 20 years of experience teaching university physics in California, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Louisiana (and has also taught physics to gifted high school students). Dr. McMullen currently teaches physics at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. He has also published a half-dozen papers on the collider phenomenology of superstring-inspired large extra dimensions. Chris McMullen earned his Ph.D. in particle physics from Oklahoma State University (and his M.S. in physics from California State University, Northridge).Dr. McMullen is well-known for:engaging physics students in challenging ideas through creativitybreaking difficult problems down into manageable stepsproviding clear and convincing explanations to subtle issueshis mastery of physics and strong background in mathematicshelping students become more fluent in practical math skillsMATH REVIEW: A separate chapter covers essential calculus skills (including relevant integration techniques) and reviews common coordinate systems.USES: This physics book serves two functions:It provides a variety of examples for how to solve fundamental physics problems.Itโs also the solutions manual to Essential Calculus-based Physics Study Guide Workbook, ISBN 978-1-941691-11-3. Review: Buy The Entire Series - All the books in this series are wonderful. They make this "difficult" topic easy to understand. Review: Highly Recommended - I can not praise this book enough for its clear and uncluttered, no nonsense, and easy to read presentation. Excellent complement for my brushing up on scientific skills/knowledge. Chris McMullen, Ph.D has done an excellent job!

Saved my electromagnetism grade
As a student who was previously scared of the electromagnetism exam, I bought this to bring some topics up to speed. The result was pretty impressive- 86% in the year 1 end-of-year exam. I always regretted buying this instead of the actual workbook, but this will more than suffice as revision material (but not if you work through this in tandem with the actual university course)

Not starting off on the right foot.
Within the first couple of pages, it is apparent that this book throws numbers back in before it tries to solve the problem, which makes the solutions very hard to follow. Also on the second problem of the book it already has mixed up units (micro vs nano). Love the calculus problems book from this guy!
