With our (now eight month old) cocker/retriever, we were struggling with pulling and lunging. Despite her intelligence and training, her exuberance meant every walk was a challenge. We tried almost every kind of collar, lead, harness and halter. Nothing worked: she's still pulled like a train and wriggled out of anything on her nose. Until we tried this one. A complete transformation! Our pup now trots along happily and obediently. It's a simple device without heavy, complex straps and buckles. Very easy to slip on (a persuasive treat helps but she waits patiently while it's fitted now). She can still eat, sniff etc without discomfort. Most importantly, the lightest of touches turns her head to me when needed, so the lead is loose and our dog walks safely and alongside us with ease. I use it with a 2m x 6mm rope lead which is light (the clip is below dog's jaw so a heavy lead would pull down). Now we use this halter every day and every walk is a pleasure for us and our dog. Cannot recommend enough!

Having tried so many different products and methods to stop my 20 month old spaniel/collie/retriever from pulling, I was desperate to find a way for our walks to become enjoyable rather than a battle of wills and attempts to dislocate my arm! This item has solved all my problems - he walks beautifully by my side (with a little treat shaped encouragement!) and will only attempt to pull under extreme provocation (cat or squirrel shaped). He is not very keen to let me put it on him (spoils all his fun!) but makes no serious attempts to remove it while we are walking. Very highly recommended.

It is very good as my dog is terrible on lead this helps very much to control her.

Works very well for my dog. Helps him stay focused on walks. U do have to make it quite tight as he is able to slip it off his nose from time to time.

This gentle leader has been a godsend for my exuberant Afghan! You will find that your dog will do everything he can to remove the head collar at first, however - it is so important to ignore this behaviour and reward when they are walking politely by your side. Make sure you fit the collar correctly as I have read some reviews stating the collar slipped off or was too tight etc you want to be able to get just 1 finger behind the strap, that is behind your dogs ears. Can’t recommend enough and remember don’t get annoyed with your dog when he fights the collar, stay calm and it’ll work out fine!

This item is on the small size and tho it is marketed as a medium size and suitable for a German shepherd dog it is too small and does not fit. Nicely made item and would fit a smaller dog well.

Was a little skeptical at first but so far so good..walking without dragging or pulling as I was exhausted constantly correcting.This lead gives you back control & once your dog gets use to it ( which didn't take long for mine) you'll be thankful you gave it a try.

I usually buy the Halti brand head collars which are amazing, but they don't have cute colours so I decided to buy this one in pink. Sadly it doesn't do the job at all - if my dog pulls, the harness just slips around and cuts into her eye. Very disappointed for how expensive it was! It's going to go in the bin :(

We bought two of these, one for our german shepherd (Medium) and one for our chihuahua/dachshund mix (petite) and they arrived yesterday(11/19/17). Both dogs are big pullers and the shepherd is very bad, I have been working with the shepherd with standard techniques found around for about three weeks and little to no signs of progress. Yesterday we took each dog for a walk with these on individually with a pocket full of treats, both dogs hated it and pawed at their face for the first few minutes but it only took about 60 seconds for the little one to totally stop pulling and after the first few minutes she stopped pawing at her face. The shepherd took about 4 or 5 minutes to figure out she couldn't pull, she would try to pull, hate it, and stop herself, then shake her head then continue walking, then she figured it out and started doing normal dog stuff and ignoring the collar. Both dogs would occasionally paw at their face ( which i expect to last a few weeks) but after the first few minutes it was less frequent and we learned that if we kept them walking they forgot about it. By the end of our first 15 minute walk with each dog, both had realized the difference between the loose leash feel that had a level of tension that let them walk forward and the level of tension that would activate the collar and were walking happily and both my wife and I were walking in comfort. By the end my wife was able to walk the german shepherd AND play Pokemon Go (yes some people still play that game). If I could give this product 10 stars I would. The only thing I would mention, and it isn't the fault of the leash, is because it hooks under the chin the owner should be aware of keeping the leash up off the ground so that it doesn't get under the legs of the dog. That has more to do with learning to be a good dog walker than anything to do with this product.

A must buy... It's an absolute essential for a dog who pulls hard. My Golden retriever is a 40 kg muscular machine..once he decides to pull ..no one on earth can stop him... Read a lot about this product and finally decided to try it out as our last hope to enjoy leisurely walks with our pet.. It actually worked for our pet..taking him for walks is super easy now.. As far as the pets comfort is concerned..our pet does claw at it sometimes out of frustration ..when he feels that he s not able to pull us hard enough.Otherwise he s relaxed and able to bark, pant,take a walking stick in his mouth and hold his ball well.. On more than one occassion the collar has slipped off his muzzle..so I combine it with his regular collar.
