On the bottom of the dial it says MADE IN JAPAN 4RS6-09E2 R5 2

Does this have Japanese kanji day?

No The one for the US market does not. The ones we sale have made in Japan on the dial and they will come with the 3 year warranty from Seikousa. You will need an invoice from a true US dealer to register your watch with Seiko. You can look for a domestic Japanese Seiko to find your day in Japanese but it will not come with a 3 year warranty.
