Will this work on a MacBook with the M1 Chip?

Hello! I work as an IT Admin for 5 dealerships in the Midwest region. My experience with this adapter is that it did not work for my intentions. We hook MDI Vehicle Diagnostic equipment to a computer using this adapter, and it did not function with the provided drivers. The same drivers are available for Mac OS X, so they should work on an A1 Mac, assuming you need this for a supported function. I believe our issue was a software limitation on GM's side. The instruction booklet says it is only compatible with windows 98/me/2000/xp - these have been anchient for 20 years - - safe for win 10/11 ?

Startech is slow to update stuff. I have both this unit and the unit that is USB-C, and have used both on Windows 10. The USB-C seems to connect quicker, but both work.
