Works great, can run 2 external sound systems at same time

After an experience with another brand unpowered optical splitter which wouldn't work, I highly recommend that if you need an optical splitter, get a powered one; like this one. I have two 6' optical cables plugged into the outputs and everything works fine - first time, every time. No setup, no fussing. Just plug everything in and it's ready to go. And don't forget to remove the tiny rubber caps from the ends of your optical cables (sold separately). Just one comment, and this isn't a negative comment. This does not come with a USB power supply. It does come with the proper USB power cable, but you need to buy the part that plugs into the wall. This is noted in the product description. These little USB power supplies are cheap and all over Amazon. So if you don't have one sitting around, order one at the same time you order this (order several and put the rest in your spare parts box). One final comment about packaging. This unit is packed in a pretty flimsy plastic sleeve and then shipped in a thin paper envelope. The first one I received arrived broken. I reported this to Amazon, and they sent me a replacement; next day delivery. I did leave a comment on the vendor's comment section about the packaging. Packaging aside, this is a great value for the price and it works great! EDIT: I was contacted by the vendor who wanted to be sure I received the replacement undamaged (I did). I maintain my 5 star rating for this device and add another 5 star rating for the responsive vendor who wanted to make sure I was happy with the replacement (I was).

Have had it for 3 years, still works.

My father is hard of hearing, and was driving my mother out of the house with the TV volume. It seemed that Bluetooth headphones were the answer so my father could listen at a volume that is comfortable to him, and my mother could control the volume on the sound bar without impacting my father. The TV has no place for a mechanical plug, and only one optical output, so I bought an optical Bluetooth adapter with a pair of comfortable (long lived battery) Bluetooth headphones at a local store before ordering this Optical splitter. The Optical splitter arrived the next day, and It took me less than five minutes to install it, bringing peace and harmony to the household. My mother can even press a button to turn off the sound bar if she prefers silence, while my father continues to listen at his accustomed volume. There appears to be no degradation of the sound quality, and the price point was reasonable. I am very happy with this splitter.

I would have this device because I was trying to basically my home theater system has only one input and you know basically trying to make everything function for AFC mode well I'll say this it came with its actually came actually with its own extra which I didn't know that was going to come with its own actual optical cable which is great it came with its own usb-c connection which is great and that's fantastic the only thing I would say is that you know it doesn't look very nice but you know if you just have it hidden behind your television or something like that mounted up behind the TV or as long as whatever your mouth very well I've noticed that you know at most 360 and whatnot it plays excellently and it came with a free LED light that actually is a USB LED light so you can utilize that for when you're trying to what and get to those hard to reach places that you can't really tell where the help of cables might go or if you just try to you know read a book or something we'll features

Does not work.

We recently upgraded the sound for the TV and needed to support headphones and the new speakers on the optical output. The headphones provide a pass-through option but require a manual selector switch to be set. This splitter fixes that so we can use either or both without having any manual intervention. Installation is straight forward. Plug the optical cables from the headphones and speakers into the splitter. Plug the splitter into the TV. The TV also provides a USB socket to power the splitter. The sound from the headphones & speakers is very good, no delay or sync issues are apparent.

I use it to feed a 7.1 sound system and my wife's iPhone/hearing-aid system. Before we had to swap back and forth between the two systems but now they both run at the same time. It works great! It would be nice if it had a longer input cable but a bit of Velcro sticks it to the back of the television so it doesn't just hang. A longer power cable would be nice too. It is short so it has to take up the USB port on my TV for power. I had to purchase a longer USB cable to use a wall-wart USB charger. Other than those two things it's great. I might take away half of a star for that...

Sinceramente genial. El sistema de audio HDMI ARC/Atmos ha sido un retroceso en la calidad del audio. Sin embargo gracias a esto puedo mantener mi barra de sonido por canal óptico y utilizar un sistema dolby de cinco canales estándar que se adecua muchísimo mejor a una casa estándares ya que reparte el audio por los cinco canales en vez de intentar crear puntos virtuales a través de rebotar frecuencias en un techo que el fabricante no sabe cómo es y no nos deja ajustar. No es que necesites este elemento para hacer eso pero yo es que quería mantener los auriculares porque no hay nada como el sonido binaural (lo que algunos necios llaman sonido 8D inventándose cinco dimensiones que no existen o porque no saben que significa la D)

Enfin un appareil opérationnel apres 3 tentatives dans d'autres marques sans alimentation propre. Et la enfin la tv samsung en sortie pcm diffuse sur mon ampli hifi ou/et mon casque jbl 775.Ca fonctionne bien alimentation par prise usb en sortie tv.
