Excellent book, easy to understand and to apply the suggestions. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to improve their communication skills.

When I first purchased this book, it was because I had a need to learn to communicate better. I expected the read to be boring, but knew it had to be done. As I began reading, that need soon turned to a want. I wanted to read and learn more about communicating. Ian, your writing, the way you explained the different ways to communicate, made it easy to read and learn. I also learned a lot about myself and was able to apply these learnings instantly upon reading them. I look forward to reading more of your books. Thank you!

Definitely not worth the money and time and effort! should only use this when the product really does not reflect the product listing. I was amazed by the way and the content of this book, it is certainly a guidance on what to consider, what to change, what to do . Love it I already listen to the book twice, and I think I’m going to listening again , a lot of good material

The tips the author gave were okay. But I thought they were kind of manipulative to use on your working colleagues. The book could easily been reduced to about 50 pages. Putting on a happy face is obvious if you are a sincerely happy person. Wishing people a great day is also common curtesy. Delving into someone’s personal problems is not. Almost everyone wears some sort of mask for protection. I would strongly suggest, it is better to be an attentive, sincere listener, than to simply nod in agreement to work challenges. That way, you could bear the burdens of a difficult work environment, without regrets. Always be sincere with everyone. Your sincerity should reap great rewards, in your home life and hopefully someday, in your workplace.

This book has transformed the way I demonstrated my communication skills. It is a game changer with insights into non verbal cues that we can observe in others and apply to our relationships. It has also inspired me to adopt a more effective presentation style within my organization.

Simple, informative, and practical. If you are looking for a book that will help you communicate with others in various areas of your life then this is the right book for you! The language in the book is easy to read and jumps right into the material to get you started to improving your communication skills. The material written in this book is not a "do these simple tricks and your life will alter forever" but rather gives you the foundation and techniques as well as insights of how communication works to help better your skills. Overall I was very satisfied with all the content given in this book as it exposed me to ideas and concepts that I would have never came up with myself.

Just finished the book and all in all it was a good read! Some of the chapters felt like review or “common sense”. BUT I found plenty of chapters to be incredibly insightful and practical. Something I look for in the books I read is how practical the teachings can be in our day to day lives. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of actionable advice given within this book. Finally, YES. Yes I would recommend this quick read to anyone and everyone. A few of the chapters I will even go back and review from time to time.

This concise, but still complete guide, contains a huge amount of practical advices and techniques, which are always well supported by interesting psychology and sociology facts, helping the reader to understand the mechanisms behind human behaviours during interactions. It covers every aspect of this largely underrated skill such as body language, usage of voice, ACTIVE LISTENING to the interlocutor, and examples of things we usally say (or we do not say) that are undermining the effectiveness of our speech. Recommended.
