I installed this filter 12 months ago (7/2021) along with a 150-micron prefilter on my well system. The water pressure is still very good, and the water quality is excellent. With only two of us in the house I think that it will last for two years. The key is using a sediment prefilter, that I have to flush out every two months or so. This is a five-minute job- so no big deal. UPDATE:(4/2023) I finally replaced the filter after 22 months when the water pressure was definitely getting weak. It was easy and only took a few minutes to replace. I clean the pre-filter every three months and I have pretty gritty well water. Our water tastes very good and there are no more calcium stains. Great product.

Be sure you get the metal housing that holds this filter in place. Easy to install filter and replace filter. Metal housing has an easy twist and turn filter to lock in place on replacing filter. Lasts about a year with our private well, but we have a water softener before it goes through this filter into the house. These are expensive, but best price was here at Amazon!

I have been buying these filters for 7 years now, they work well. I just wish they were more affordable. I run these as whole house filters as designed and use a pre-filter in front of it to extend the life. I always look for Amazon Warehouse deals on this item, or just as well buy the whole setup all over again instead of the replacement filters. The -S model does make a difference. I replace at least yearly if not a little less than a year. If you set up your system right the pre filter will have a water shut off on it, that makes changing the main filter easy enough without shutting water off to the house. Mine is under the house in the crawl space. A long ways away from the entry point so that is a must. I leave a box of pre-filters at the location, so I am not crawling back if I forget to take that one when replacing this main filter. The system is worth it, when we first moved here you couldn't drink the water, wife said it tastes like pond water. LOL This solved that problem. Water is triple filtered by the time it comes out of the refrigerator and calcium, rust and lime at the kitchen and bathroom fixtures is definitely minimized. I trust 3M products, so this was an easy decision.

Quick change, filters very well, the water always tastes great and they last for a bit longer than other brands. Always a direct fit.

I love these filters I am on about my 4th one they seem to last around six months for me. I use my water softener to count the gallons and so far this filter has really helped with reducing scale and sediment in my shower heads and my sinks. I can tell it's doing the job because it when the water pressure goes down and I replace it it seems like the pressure goes back up which means its doing its job and collecting impurities from the water. I have this plugged in before a water softener and it seems to be doing a great job so far. It's a little more pricey but it does take some of that smell of chlorine out which I'm very happy with.
