Works great
Very accurate would definitely recommend for spooling up your reel no need to guess how much is going on I know exactly 👍

Awesome Device
This thing is simple and great. Use it for offshore trolling. Colored line is great but it takes a couple seconds to attach this to the rod and get an exact line count. Takes a few seconds to remove and put on the next rod. Easy.

great idea - just ok quality
This has helped me out alot since purchase. It is a life saver. I only gave it a four because it feels cheap and is a little hokey.

Not just for fishermen, it for yarn artists too!
Don't fish, but I spin yarn. The traditional way to calculate yard/meter length is archaic and current yarn craft yardage counters are over priced for what they offer. I tested this out yarn I had recently spun up, and it blew my expectations out of the water (pun intended!). This is far easier and more accurate. I know this going to be one of my must haves for my craft!

Perfect tool for the job; big fish will bend it.
Really really helpful tool. The right way to use it would be to mark your line every X feet just unwinding into the ocean while you drive out to fishing grounds and then track those line marks as you get to the target depth. Not keep it attached the whole time. (You have to re-zero constantly anyway) Can’t figure out for the life of me how to get into Feet from Meters — I had a $100 bounty or free beer the rest of the trip to anyone who could figure it out and no dice. But seriously, if you are BFT fishing, and can’t figure out why killers are killing but noobs aren’t getting bit: try this go 105-110% of the target depth distance to compensate for boat drift/lure getting scoped out. You will get bit

Accurate depth, Single time use after 1 fish
It works until it doesn’t. Fishing for SoCal Night time bluefin with 100lb braid, Phenix Axis 3XH Conventional Rod, 300g to 500g knife jigs. When jigging, the extra tension makes the line slip off the retaining clip and slips on the wheel pretty much every time you free spool to drop. Just popped the line back in and kept fishing. Experimented with placement on rod, and you need to find a spot where the line is parallel to the rod blank between the guides to minimize the line popping out. On my rod it was between 3rd and 4th guide. Excellent to drop down and fish desired depth very quickly. Good visibility of the digits and shuts off after a period of time with no usage to preserve the battery. Relatively accurate, dropped to 450ft, and when wound back up was only off by 15ft due to slippage which is marginal compared to your line scoping due to current. As for durability/life, fished for two-5 hour nights and battery was still full. On the last night, dropped to 200 ft with 500g jig, got bit, line stayed on the keeper during the fight, landed about a 30-40lb BFT, and when I went to drop again, the bearings were SMOKED and the wheel was seized. Tried to free it up, but just put it away and used a second rapala digital counter the remainder of the trip. Overall, the experience using it to fish was positive, easy to use and it’s the best product out there, so far…. Dissatisfied with the durability after 1 fish - definitely an opportunity.

Really guys no batteries included?
I hope this device works reliably for years because it is awesome. It worked so well for my purposes. The only grip i have is that for over $30 it should have come with batteries. Way over priced for what it does but if you need this tyoe of device you wont be disappointed, assuming it works over time.
