Although I had to wait more than two weeks for delivery and the "snagless" strain-relief boots (though fine) are not EXACTLY as pictured, the patch cables DID arrive in time for my intended use and all five tested perfectly for proper termination and continuity. (Since I have only older computers, I do not have the means to test up-to-date ethernet cables for maximum speed.) As well, when it APPEARED that the original order had somehow gotten "stalled" in transit and I contacted Amazon about investigating, the seller responded promptly to address the issue. I’m renting, don’t have attic access, and wanted a proper hardwired connection—so yes, I ran this 50ft Cable Matters Cat 6A cable from my router to my PC through exterior. Sue me. I reused existing pathways from the old landline telephone infrastructure, which honestly felt more like upgrading the house than doing anything sketchy. I had to cut and re-terminate one end to make the run, which gave me a look at the internals. The construction is solid. Overall shield with a drain wire, plus individually foil-shielded twisted pairs. That’s exactly what you want for Cat 6A to control EMI and crosstalk. The conductors are flexible and don’t hold their shape like solid core, which is normal for stranded patch cable—not a quality issue. Performance-wise, it delivers. I’m seeing noticeably better and more consistent speeds with lower latency compared to the cable it replaced. Is this an outdoor-rated CMX cable? No. Is it protected, properly routed, and working perfectly fine in a rental with limited options? Yes. And for the price, this cable punches well above its weight and actually feels like it meets spec instead of just wearing the Cat 6A label.

I would highly recommend these shielded twisted pair for any apartment, as there are multiple tenants and shielded cables reduce interference with electronic devices from neighboring power lines and even other wireless device interference I recommend that every wireless network uses shielded twisted pair, as a lot of times the cables that come with your devices are unshielded, and you want to make sure there is no interference. Something Best Buy Geek Squad won't tell you, plus if you have older cables that are from a few years ago, I recommend updating as when ISP's upgrade their data speed you should upgrade your cables to be sure that your devices are getting maximum rated speed and that the old cables are not limiting your speed, as CAT5 cannot handle the same speeds as CAT6A and others. Be sure when you buy cables that you match the jack to your connections, most home routers and modem's use the RJ-45 standard so as long as you get the STP (Shielded Twisted Pair, not 'Scientifically Treated Petroleum') the car stuff. They come in several colors Black, Blue, Yellow and a few others, the connectors are great, they have a connector cable guard as well, they fit snugly into the jacks and they are easy to snap into place. Quality material as well, come in individually wrapped cable bags as well. I highly recommend that every network get shielded cables for optimum performance from network. Then again that is just me as a tech guy

Used it for years and still works at the same speed. Love the length as you can tidy up things by moving it around the place.
