Is effective at cooling 40 gal aquarium. Noise is noticeable, but not too bad. The chiller’s thermometer display is a bit weird and fluctuates oddly sometimes, but my tank’s temperature has never gone out of the intended range.

The product itself is fine, it desperately needs better documentation though. Set the temperature delta (d) depending how strict you want your selected temperature maintained. For example, mine is set to 61 with a 4 degree delta, so it will come on at 65 degrees and continue working until it reaches 61, and cycle from there.

Works perfectly for the kids axolotl. Water has to stay under 70

I've had this for about 2 years and it has been ok. Recently it was no longer holding temp very well. Being an engineer, I opened it all up to take a look inside. The system is mostly plastic which it should not be since the refrigerant is under pressure; and it eventually leaks. This is exceptionally dangerous because this unit (though it isn't marked on the outside or anywhere on the unit, which is illegal in the USA!) uses R290... refrigerant grade propane!! That means it is highly flammable! Just what you want in a non-UL listed electric appliance; liquid propane dripping all over hot components. Do Not Buy This Unit!!!! It is extremely dangerous. Look for units that use R134a refrigerant as they are going to be better built; not made out of plastic! Funny how the description says it's titanium. No sir, this is plastic! Everything about this product is dangerous! A proper unit with an actual Titanium evaporator/heat exchanger will cost you almost twice this price and will use R134a. You have been warned; now choose your own adventure!

This is the first summer since getting our axolotls and their tank was becoming dangerously hot. Ice packs weren’t bringing the temp down enough and it’s only the beginning of June, so we took the investment to help our babies and save our time/energy. It took a couple hours to go from 73 degrees down to 60, now it’s keeping it a perfect temp and our axolotls are happy again! Also, it’s not too loud at all.

This thing is about as loud as a full size fridge plus a clanging noise. There's little to no instructions and there's not enough hose to run from the tank to the unit on the floor and then back to the tank. So mine is temporarily sitting on an end table until I can get to a hardware store. As far as cooling my aquarium this thing is doing an excellent job and works like it should. 5 star for functionality 1 star on the rest. This company could do a way better job for the price

Chiller is slowly failing to hold a steady temperature after about 10 months, can’t figure out how to contact customer support.

Purchased this chiller for my 20 gallon axolotl tank, and have been using it for over a year now with absolutely no issues. I am pleasantly surprised at the build quality, and the setup was relatively straightforward. Be sure to read the directions for setting the temperature, as it can be a bit confusing at first.

Ordered the 60L version first which is using a Peltier cooler, while it does cool the water it's also fairly noisy so if you care about noise get the 42Gallon and up version which use a compressor, while more expensive these can be considered quiet. I can't comment on reliability but the product is easy to set and does work and cool water well. Overall very happy so far with the compressor version I exchanged the smaller one for.

Works great and it is quiet. Arrived on time and handled with care.
