Does this work with VPT 8?

have not tested. It is a primitive device - just a USB device that takes essentially a RS232 (serial modem) and converts to RS485 (which is DMX)

Can this control DMX enabled foggers and hazers?

This interface takes the usb output from a lighting control program and changes it to dmx 512, so it can send the dmx information to any dmx device. However the actual computer program controls how the control works.

Works great with ShowBuddy Active, optically isolated from power surges

Working great to drive my theater lighting system from my laptop using Show Buddy software. Knowing that it’s optically isolated from any surges on the DMX cables means my laptop is protected. Down here in Mexico the power is pretty dirty sometimes, not to mention my cheap Chinese LED PARs.
